Veil's Pov:Deciding to take a small break from my trek so far I climb a tree and rest my legs along the limb so I'm not to tired to do anything or fight if I have to. My tail flicks next to me and soon enough I see the small animals on the ground rushing about doing their daily habits. 'Small creatures are so weird.' I think to myself before a butterfly decides to be brave and flutters infront of my face. My tail flicks my interest pricked and my cat like urges becoming hard to push down. Letting out a soft meow I bat at the creature and let it flutter away for the sake of the game. Continuing the game for a little while I give a light hum as I follow the butterfly through the trees hopping from one limb to the next to play with it. My tail wags happily before I actually let it go not wanting to kill it. Sighing lightly I look at the trees around me and notice I'm not to far away from where I was. My tail flicks for a moment in delight having gotten rid of some excess energy I could never get rid of. Calmly I continue on my way via tree limbs and through the mountains mostly unused pass. My messenger bag lightly hits my hip as I leap from each limb to the next being somewhat careful with the package there. Spotting a clearing I force myself to stop my momentum not agreeing with me for a minute making me almost slide right off the limb only I dig my nails into the bark to force a stop. My bag hits my hip a little harder then before making me grimace only to give it a once over to access the damage. Actually looking into the bag I grab the package to see it's fine before putting it back where it was. Sighing I slither down the tree to the ground and start to walk again. Giving a glance through the clearing I make sure there are no higher level akumas around. Seeing none I enter the clearing and easily pass through the sunlit clearing. My tail flicks as I pass by a small pond only for a flash of scales to pop up on the still water. Giving a swift glance that way I continue walking through the clearing into the tree-line. My messenger bag taps my thigh lightly as I walk through the forest like pass. Slightly annoyed I continue to walk not wanting to suddenly pop up on an unsuspecting akuma. Spotting a few moth demons (chuchi) I snort at them wondering why they are even here. 'Some lower demons don't even belong in some places.' I think to myself flicking the bug out of my face. Easily enough I get through all the random little creatures stopping once I see the forest start to thin out to a clearing again. Sniffing lightly I smell late season flowers. Checking around me I don't notice anything almost like nothing is in the meadow like clearing. 'Odd. One would think I would see more demons given papa's warning. Or more animals for that matter.' I think to myself now on the alert for movement and other signals that could alert presence. My tail flicks closer behind me as I scan the area before heading out into the meadow like clearing. Stepping out into the bright sunlight I walk past flowers and grass but in the process I startle a few lizards and insects near my feet. Frowning I continue through the foliage having expected a challenge of sorts from another akuma. Heaving an inaudible sigh I cross the clearing of flowers back into the woods on the opposite side. Finding everything so odd I glance about and frown for a minute. "I'm just fretting over nothing." I murmur to myself before walking on with my tail swaying behind me, more as a warning than anything. Continuing on my way to my destination before my stomach growls loudly. Blushing lightly I look at my belly as though that will make it shut up. 'Kuso, what time is it?' I ask myself pulling out my phone for the time. '12:37. No wonder it's lunch time at school.' I think in slight agitation before I go to rummage through my bag to see if I took my bento along with a drink. 'Please tell me I packed it.' I think hopefully knowing I had one this morning. Spotting it I give a sigh of relief, but climb a tree to rest on the limb and eat my lunch. 'Usually I eat lunch with Rin under the shade of a tree near a bench.' I think to myself realizing how much time I spend with the two twins rather than a group of girls or something. Looking at my bento I see something extra shoved inside that I didn't put there. "Nani? Where did this come from?" I ask myself softly fully opening the bento and seeing a piece of cake placed there. Sniffing it I smell the familiar scent of Rin along with the sweet rich scent of his cooking. Smiling gently I pick up my chopsticks and eat my lunch saving the cake till last and savoring the taste along with the scent it carries. Finishing up my lunch I take a drink from the water canteen I packed knowing better than to pack anything else besides water. Quickly I place my lunch items back into my bag neatly closed and lightly hop down from the branch I'm perched on. My tail flicks behind me and I give the area a light scan to check for other demons. 'This is to strange for my taste. I know demons are usually more active at night but this is insane.' I think not even really spotting chuchi, hobgoblins, or snakes. Continuing on my way I keep myself on alert before deciding the area is to lacking in demon activity and climbing a tree to hop from limb to limb again. Lightly I brush past the branches only landing enough to push off again to the next branch. My tail sticks somewhat close to me as I leap to the next branch making quick progress through this pass of forest. "This is ridiculous. No place that has any demons should be this serene." I say through closed teeth listening for anything and everything. Spying nothing in my sight I grimace not sure how I should feel about the lack of activity. Continuing I shake my head to clear it of thought before accidentally slipping on one of the branches and thrusting my arms out to latch on to anything available. Not grabbing anything I focus for a second and stop myself from falling by levitating. 'Arigato akuma tricks.' I think to myself standing on my feet and climbing back on to the tree and leaping again. Easily I continue on my way knowing exactly where I'm going, to an extent. Calmly I plan out my path in the trees and follow it to the t. My tail flicks and waves as I leap through the trees keeping me balanced and giving a slight warning by flashing red each time it passes through sunlight. Spotting a trail next to my path in the trees I give it a glance to access what follows it and the level if it's a demon. 'Doesn't seem like any demon I know of. Though I could always be wrong.' I think deciding to give it wide space between me and it just incase. Surely enough just as I'm out of sight I hear something lumbering along the trail that doesn't sound like just an animal. Catching it's scent I smell the metallic scent of blood making me grimace for memories of it on my father and uncle a great many times until the scent seemed to soak them through. Growling very softly to myself I pick up my pace as much as I can while staying the same quietness as before to hopefully keep the other demon away from me and my trail. Thankfully the demon doesn't come after me. 'The scent of blood is probably masking everything else.' I think lightly not slowing my pace just incase I'm wrong. The messenger bag lightly taps my thigh letting me know it's there as I travel through the trees. Deciding I'm far enough away I move to the next tree to take a small break since the spot where I need to be isn't to much farther away. Leaning against the tree I close my eyes before opening them after a minute and staring at the area surrounding me. My tail flicks and I check the time to see school is just about to end. 'Looks like I've killed a bit of time.' I think to myself heaving a soft sigh. Blinking again I pick myself up and decide to walk. Slithering down the tree I walk through the rest of the forest like area onto another flower meadow with a pond in the middle with a stream running from the pond. My eyes scan through the meadow to see nothing but a few small woodland creatures. Easily birdsong floods through the area along with the symphony of chirping insects. I frown slightly at the sound of insects at this time of day. 'Its nowhere near nighttime though.' I think before brushing it off as some insects might chirp at different times. Spotting the different types of flowers and plant life I hold back a girly squeak. Moving over to a few I give them a light sniff only to sneeze at the invasion of different demon scents. I blink before looking around again to see if anyone is there. Spotting nothing I decide to go ahead and move. Walking through the meadow I give all the different flowers a glance. 'It's just like Papa's garden.' I think slightly amused at all the types of flowers here growing as though it's the most normal thing in the world to be there. 'Some of these flowers should be gone by now though. Some of these are seasonal.' I think to myself slightly dumbfounded as to why these flowers are still growing. Still pondering the flowers I don't notice a random knee high rock and effectively hit it much to my knee's reflexive regret making it buckle and causing me to fall on to my right side. Hissing in irritation I get back up and curse my obliviousness, glad that I didn't land on my messenger bag. My tail flicks behind me agitatedly once I get up and continue on my way a little more careful of where I step. Moving through the flowers smoothly I take in their rich aromas and try my darnest to not step on any of them. My tail wags a bit at all the flowers as I make my way to the orange leaves of birch trees and the pink leaves of Sakura trees. Casually I walk out of the meadow and under the trees shading limbs to find it cooler and a little more lively with birdsong and small demons moving about. 'Still no hobgoblins or snakes.' I think to myself watching the moths flutter about weaving through the trees. Spotting nothing of interest I keep walking and silently wonder how much longer I have to walk. Casually my tail flips from side to side and the messenger bag taps my thigh lightly as I continue my walk through the mere woods before a small house. 'That's interesting. Wait it doesn't have as door.' I think before silently groaning at my luck. Walking up to the door less house I find myself stopped by a barrier of sorts. Growling I scuff the ground under my feet. "Hello, anybody home!" I call loudly to attract the person insides attention and hopefully only theirs. "Hold on a moment!" Someone else calls back. My tail gives a flick and I remember to hide it just incase it frightens the person away. Waiting a few minutes I'm rewarded by the sight of a seemingly young adult in the doorway. They step into the light and I see the figure of an average height woman. Her auburn hair sits atop her hard in a bun and she wears a pair of black leggings and a crimson tunic. "Yes, who calls?" She asks lightly making me blink. "I do ma'am. My name is Hattori, Veil. Messenger girl for Sir Mephisto Pheles and I bring a package for the one named Montrose, Clare. Do you know where I might find her?" I ask formally making her nod. "Well you found her. I was wondering when he was going to send me that darn thing. Thank you, may I have my package?" She asks easily making me nod before taking out the package from my messenger bag. "You can come in." She offers lightly and I test the barrier with my foot only to find I still can't cross it. "No, that's alright I need to get going soon. It was nice to meet you though." I say calmly handing her the package when she comes to retrieve it. She nods and opens it. "Do you mind waiting for a second I need to send him something aswell." She says and I nod calmly in agreement. Easily she leaves me alone for a minute before coming back out of her house a different package in hand. "Now this isn't fragile so it'll be fine if you get into a fight but try not to let it take a blow from a high level akuma." She warns making me nod. "Thank you, Miss Clare." I say placing the item into my bag and hoping backwards to a tree limb and leaping through the woods around her house. Leaping through the branches at a rapid pace to leave the forest like area as soon as I can. Reaching the end of the woods very quickly I sprint through the meadow and back into the next batch of woods not wanting to be caught, by the akuma I smelt before, near dusk. 'I don't want to be here when the sun starts to set.' I think to myself seriously. Taking to the trees again, I leap through the them with practiced ease being able to cover more ground this way. My tail waves out behind me again lightly and I flash a little of my flame every few leaps as a warning to stay away. Being careful when I do to not attract the chuchi. Checking the time I see Cram School is a little before the midpoint of the day. Growling to myself I pick up my pace and forget there is a another stretch of meadow nearby. I accidentally leap into the meadow from my tree branch and quickly roll to the ground to somewhat break my fall. Growling at my forgetfulness I sprint through not staying to check the area like last time. At the last footfall of meadow I leap back into the trees. Easily I land on the branch and start to move through each trees branches again only to nearly trip over a green hobgoblin. 'Kuso, now they come out.' I think to myself with a agitated growl at the demon as I have to leap over it in the branch to the next tree, being careful of overhanging branches. Stopping on the next branch I climb a little higher and continue on my way. Starting to pant a little heavily I go a few more branches and climb higher in the foliage to rest. 'Kuso I don't have time to rest not even a little bit.' I think to myself growling at the hobgoblins that decide to come a little close. Growling at a few especially agitated I cause them to run away in fear. 'I am the adopted daughter of Amaimon King of Earth. I do not have to prove my worth to his kin!' I think to myself growling at them again since they decided to come back. Deciding to take a drink from my water I seek out my canteen. Finding it easily I unscrew the lid and take a swing before screwing it back on and putting it back in my messenger bag. Slithering to the lower branches I decide to keep going and shift into my actual akuma form, regretting not doing so earlier since I can move around faster this way. Leaping through the trees I put out my flames and continue speedily through the forest. Hearing the high pitched sound of bats overhead I hiss. Stoping on the next branch I climb up to the top of the tree to see where the sun is. Only to see it very nearly set. Growling at myself I don't notice the sound of very large wings coming my way. Cursing my luck I check the time only to see Cram School a little past the middle time making me sigh in slight relief. Feeling a sudden rush of wind I look behind me only to late since I'm picked up by our resident dragon. Cursing I growl at the dragon knowing it's at an almost intermediate level unlike me. Easily I flip myself over and kick the dragon underneath it's chest and ribcage. The purplish-black dragon drops me in surprise and I allow myself to fall back into the trees before catching myself on a lower limb. Moving quickly I leap through the branches to put some distance between us so I don't waste time on the flying reptile. 'Any other day would be fine but I have to go.' I think to myself calmly as I race through the branches to the mountainside. Sliding on the rocks as I leap down I pass the lower akuma who challenged me earlier and he shrinks down before slinking away as I cross the mountain face back to my uncle's house. 'Alright I need to use my key on one of the garden doors this time.' I think having it ready as I slide trying not to slip. 'Man I love my tail.' I think to myself before I hop down to the garden door and quickly use my key to get to my Uncle's office. Partially dashing into my uncle's office I pant to myself knowing my uncle is the only one in the room. "I made it... just in time... it's not over yet... Man... I hate... dragons." I pant making my uncle chortle in amusement so I peek an eye at him from my spot on the floor. "What are you in such a hurry for, Veil?" He asks amused and slightly curious. "I wanted to be out of there by if not before sundown. I took to long and almost got eaten." I say my breath caught, my uncle just laughs at me. Snorting at him I get up. "Dad's kin wouldn't leave me alone either. I hadn't seen them till the sun started setting. But they refused to leave me alone." I add making my uncle laugh even harder. "Seems they wanted to know who you were. Remember these don't know you yet." He comments making me snort. "Anyway I delivered the package and she sent something back with me. The dragon taking residence in the mountains almost ate me a few minutes ago." I pout taking out the package much to my uncle's delight only to find a green hamster on top of it. Blinking in confusion I shake my head. "Crazy thing could have been killed." I murmur to myself and my uncle just rolls his eyes at it. He takes the package and opens it easily to find a vial filled with a violet blue liquid and demon nip. "Perfect." He says calmly before dismissing me. I nod knowing better than to ask what crazy scheme it is this time and use my key to get to Cram School. Once there I find our classroom that we are using for planing empty. Entering the room anyway I'm soon greeted by the others. Rin enters first and casually makes his way over though I can see his excitement and worry in his eyes. Easily I get up and give him a hug. 'I'm fine it went well. Sorry I'm late though.' I think to him before letting him go and giving him a smile. He sighs lightly in relief before I sit on one of the table like desks my tail giving a light wave behind me in greeting to the other Exwires. The look at me weird for a second. "Where have you been all day?" Bon exclaims making me shrug. "Extracurricular activity." I say casually before blinking since I see Izumo with us this time. 'What is she doing here?' I ask Rin telepathically making him sigh. 'Shima and Paku got caught and accidentally told her.' He thinks back making me frown. "Looks like we'll have to change the decorations then." I murmur quietly to myself. Bon sighs noticing my frown and decides to break the news but I hold up a hand. "Don't bother Rin just told me." I say making him frown. "How did he tell when he didn't open his mouth once?" Bon asks in irritation and I sigh. "Come on, Bon. Surely you've read about it. Demons share a telepathic link. They can always speak to each other if the other end is open and the thought is directed to them. Familiars usually only have their links open to their summoners but not always. Demons can always speak to each other but the familiars won't listen to them if they are giving an order unless their summoner is weak. Then they might. But anyway me and Rin are both demons, even though he's a half, so the link is the same both ways." I explain calmly my tail flicking in a bored manner behind me. Bon nods as though remembering it now quite clearly. Izumo huffs lightly before explaining how we are going to do the party thing now so it's fair for everyone. "See that I didn't know." I say softly, with a light smile gracing my features.
(TimeSkip: 1 hour later)
Easily I open my room's door with my tail as I go to take a bath. Giving the twin's door a medium berth I continue my way to the bathroom thing to take a nice long soak. Going towards the stairs I slide down the railing easily to shorten my trip time there. Passing the big sink I go on to the bathing bathroom thing. Once there I leisurely go through my bathing routine and soak in the warmer water for a bit to relax since I know I'll be a little sore in the morning from using my muscles more than usual. Grunting lightly I leave the water and move to dry myself off and put some clothes on my publicly indecent body. Snorting at the thought I dry myself off before putting on sleep clothes. My fluffy black and shiny Umbreon pajama pants slid right on my hips and stay there as I slip on a blue striped black tank-top. Easily I grab my towel and carry it out with me towards my room and place my dirty clothes in the basket making a note to wash clothes soon. My tail flicks lightly behind me as I walk past the big sink again and walk quietly up the stairs. Heading towards my room I give the twin's room a medium berth before coming upon mine and opening the door. Seeing my light on I blink before looking around on the bed across from mine. Spotting nothing I cautiously enter the rest of my room to see Rin waiting on my bed reading my manga. Sighing lightly in relief I move over to him and casually hang my towel to dry. "Jeez, Rin. If you wanted to read my manga you could just ask." I say slightly tired. "Hm oh there you are, Veil. Gomen I was waiting for you and I got bored." He apologizes and I shrug before making him scoot over a bit. "Alright well I'm here now. What do you want." I ask calmly not really caring that I'm staying up a little longer than I originally planned. "Well I was wondering how your errand went. Was there anything interesting that happened?" He asks like and excited child making me chuckle softly. "Sure, plenty of things were interesting I'll tell you best I can every detail." I say happily making his tail wag in excitement. After a moments thought I start and almost slip up on my uncle's name but just let it go and Rin ignores it as well.(A/N: sorry for the super late update I haven't really had time to get on Wattpad lately so the next two might be kinda late aswell, gomenasai)
