Ever since Avery Rainbow Villa came to Everest High, everything changed. When she introduced herself in class, her second name: Rainbow caught everyone's attention.

"Cool name! A girl and a rainbow," one said.

"Rainbow Girl!" one chimed in.

And so, the nickname stuck.

But everyone in school knows her as The Lucky Singer. That's because her family is friends with Kia Astrid, a famous teenage superstar. Rainbow's family supported Kia when she was just starting out, and in return, Kia became Rainbow's singing coach. It's this fortunate connection that gave Rainbow her nickname.

Rainbow's style and outfits were truly unique and always grabbed attention. Her rainbow-colored sneakers, eye-catching highlights, and the flowers she carried all added to her distinct appearance.

It's not just her fashion choices that piqued people's curiosity. Everyone wanted to know about Rainbow's love life. They would often ask her during class, "Rainbow Girl, do you have a crush on someone in our class? Is it someone we know?"

Instead of giving a direct answer, she would simply respond with a smile, leaving everyone intrigued.

Rainbow was admired and looked up to by everyone. Despite not having many friends, she was seen as cool. She often got lost in her own world, listening to music or playing her guitar and singing during breaks.

Whenever she started singing, a crowd would quickly gather around her, eager to listen to her beautiful voice.

One day, as Rainbow was about to get off the jeep, a kind old lady said, "You look so cool. Are you performing?"

"Yes po, I will sing."

As she stepped off the jeep, everyone wished her luck, and she smiled, waving goodbye.

However, there was someone who didn't like her - Storm Chase Padilla.

Whenever there was a school event that required a singer, both Storm and Rainbow would eagerly raise their hands. But more often than not, the teachers would choose Rainbow, declaring, "Lovely! Rainbow Girl saves the day!"

This decision always left Storm with a smirk on his face. He had a plan brewing in his mind. However, his best friend didn't share his confidence. "Come on, man. Just admit it. Rainbow Girl will always be more talented than you," his best friend doubted.

But Storm was determined to prove his best friend and everyone else wrong.

...

The event started, and as Rainbow sang the song: Home, the crowd applauded.

Suddenly, Storm joined her on stage, singing along. "We found love..."

Despite his dislike for her, Storm felt butterflies in his stomach as he saw Rainbow blushing and stumbling over the lyrics.

"Rainbow Girl has a crush on Storm Chase!"

The crowd chanted, "Duet! Duet! Duet!"

They sang together beautifully as the rain fell outside. In the end, they noticed a rainbow had appeared when the rain stopped.

Backstage, Storm couldn't get a question out of his mind. "Um, do you have a crush on me?"

Rainbow shyly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, blushing and smiling.

Storm never expected to feel those butterflies in his stomach again, with all the feelings and excitement.

...

The silence between them wasn't awkward at all. All Storm could think about was how beautiful Rainbow's smile was. He wondered why he didn't notice it before.

He guessed he was too busy being mad at her. But now, things were slowly changing.

"Hey, Storm, why don't we jam together since we're done performing? What do you think?"

Storm chuckled. "Here and now?"

"Why not? I think it would be cool."

She held his hand in hers. Storm looked into her light brown eyes, lively and bright.

"Let's go," she said softly.

They both sat down, and she had her guitar in hand, strumming a song they both knew well.

Storm and Rainbow were singing their second duet together.

Storm couldn't admit it, but that day, the storm he felt in his heart turned into hopeful sunshine. Every time the rain ceased, a rainbow would unfailingly grace the sky.

After their song, Storm couldn't help but speak up, "Um, I really enjoyed singing with you again." He noticed her eyes shimmering and a blush spreading across her cheeks. In that instant, he wished for the day to never end. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine wanting to kiss Rainbow Girl.
