Textbook was in the fifth grade now as a colt, and he was taller than most of his classmates. Strong, too. He always wore a green bow tie and a white lab coat, with glasses. You'd think this to make him a target, but since he's socially skilled, he's okay with other ponies. The science fair was coming soon. The science fair was in the end of May, at the end of the year, and it was March. Textbook was having a competition with Mathbook for winner. Textbook had the upper hoof being a science pony, while Mathbook is only a mathematician. Mathbook was making an abacus that can be used to determine a pony's attitude based on a set of questions and equations in a questionare. Textbook made an electric current that powered a sign reading the school name and the date the invention was made. They worked tirelessly and hard for months and kept challenging each other to go higher. "Is that the best you've gotten so far?" Textbook spoke, in a mildly english accent. "Indeed it is, and it will prosper so much better than YOURS, Texty." Mathbook would reply. Textbook smiled at that with a look of determination and headed back to work on his. "Is that REALLY all YOU have, Texty?" Mathbook would tease as he went to bed and Textbook would work on his. "Indeed, and it's going to beat you like a rented mule." Textbook retorted to his brother. "Is that so?" "Yeah, it is Mathy."

The days were approaching them fast to the fair. They had finished their projects and left them blanketed so neither could see what they made. The other siblings watched this rivalry with interest. It was the day of the fair, they carted their inventions in with other kids and adults looking them over, voting on what to win. The principal tallied the votes and the top two were called onto the stage. Textbook and Mathbook. They had been readily waiting to hear the winner with anxious expressions when it was said it was a perfect tie. "What?!" They both exclaimed at the same time. "How can that be?" Textbook inquired. "It's unbelievable!" Mathbook examined. "It's a miracle how the twins got the same vote, folks" The principal stated to the awed audience. At that moment of them being presented with a trophy, a noise was heard. They both had gotten their cutie marks! Textbook's being a beaker setting on a textbook, and Mathbook's being a calculator on top of a textbook. They got not only awards that day, but they got what made them, them. They came home cheering to their parents as their other siblings followed them in wonder of their marks, when they'd get theirs. Their parents had been really proud of their achievement to get their own mark. It's an achievement to get a cutie mark, for two close twins too.
