My palms sweat as I rub them against my pants. This is as exhilarating as it is terrifying. The nagging feeling in my stomach grows, as the arena swarms with people.
I'm not supposed to be here. I'm supposed to be at home, with my amazing mom making chocolate chip cookies. Not here being pushed against sweaty, rowdy human beings.
However, the excuse that I didn't feel good and would be heading to bed early, stuck.
With a kiss on my forehead, and a "goodnight sweetie" from both parents I had officially been in the clear to sneak out.
For the first time may I add.
I've never had the urge to nor have I ever wanted to. Except for tonight, where I have been swayed to accompany Willow and Zarah to one of the most popular fight Nights of the month.
It took a lot of begging and puppy dog eyes for me to even consider the idea of coming along.
The Rox Pact fight club had come to Amber Cove five months ago and immediately drew in the town's residents. Every Friday Night the town buzzed with anticipation of witnessing a fight.
The most common names I hear float around are mainly Aziel Ripley, Beau West, and Carter Harrison. The big three. I've never seen them before but I constantly hear about them.
But tonights the night I may finally catch sight of them.
Another awful smell wafts by my nose and I resist the urge to pull up my shirt to cover it. To distract myself I take a good look around the arena.
There's not much to it but a bar to my left and bathrooms to my right. Though the main attraction is the box-shaped ring that holds gleaming white lights above.
Large groups of people all crowd together.
Willow and Zarah don't seem to mind much. Zarah drinks her Coke while conversing with two random girls she just met. Willow uses her phone camera to fix her hair to her liking."Having fun ?" Willow questions while stuffing her phone back into her purse. My eyebrows raise in mock excitement, "yes lots." She rolls her eyes and hooks her arm with mine.
Her eyes glide over to see Zarah talking to the girls, nose scrunching "My God she's talking their ears off."
A laugh bubbles out of me, "You know how she gets low. " Her arm yanks mine, moving me with her "Let's grab her."
