Prologue

It had been a few months since Felix had seen his friends residing in the Oddinary shop. They kept in contact weekly, if not daily. Around a month ago, however, they seemed to disappear off the radar completely. Felix tried to contact them in any way possible, but none of his attempts worked. Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Hueningkai got their own place in the same apartment building but still visited him every now and then. It wasn't until that day that Felix had heard a peep from his friends.

He was washing up his plates from dinner when his phone rang. Thinking that it was one of his apartment buddies, he picked it up without thinking. When he answered, however, he almost dropped the plate he was cleaning.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Lix? This is Chan."

"Channie hyung? Why haven't you been answering my calls or messages?" Felix had given Chan his phone number so they could keep in contact before he left the Oddinary shop a few months ago.

"I'm sorry, Lix, but we were dealing with something." By the tone of his voice, Felix could tell that Chan sounded worried.

"What's wrong, hyung?"

"Something's off in the town right now and the police got involved. For whatever reason, they think we're behind it." That made Felix's blood boil. How was his friends to blame for whatever happened? Chan's voice cut him off from his thoughts. "Apparently, little fluffy creatures have been appearing around the town and the source is unknown. There's been a ton around the shop, which is why we're being blamed for them. We need your help, do you think you can come over for a few weeks?"

"Of course! I'll be there tonight." Felix agreed in a heartbeat.

"Thank you so much, Lix. See you tonight."

"No worries, hyung." Chan hung up and Felix's head started spinning with questions. What had happened that dragged his friends into a police case? And what were the creatures that he was talking about? Felix decided to not mull over it and made another phone call, this time to his apartment buddies. Soobin answered and Felix explained the basic situation and asked if he could look after his apartment room until he got back, to which he agreed. Felix thanked him before setting the clean plate on the drying rack and packing a few things he thought were essential in a small bag and left his spare keys with Soobin before leaving for the bus stop.
