19. Let's go shopping!

Kabir Bhai too came here after knowing I was here and didn't leave my side the whole time. They both stayed by my side all the time and made sure I had my meals on time. Every time I tried to sleep or even close my eyes the memories hit me like a train and I opened my eyes with a jerk. At night Shikar Bhai gave me a sedative which made me fall into a deep slumber. 

The next afternoon Kabir bhai bought my favorite ice cream and took me to the theatre room to watch a movie. He started the movie and sat beside me. We watched the movie for the next 2 hours and he asked me to sleep for some time. He tucked me into the bed and sat on the couch after placing a kiss on my forehead. He assured me he would sit there watching me while I slept. 

The next time I opened my eyes I saw HIM sitting beside me with my hand in his and tears forming in his eyes but he was restricting them from flowing out. He pulled me up and engulfed me in a tight hug as soon as he saw me opening my eyes.

"I'm fine Rana Ji," I said trying to break the hug but his hold became more firm around me, not giving me any chance to break it. I snuggled into his chest and all the tears that I thought dried made their presence known and I broke down in his arms. He caressed my back and kept me closer to him when I let my tears of agnoy and fear flow free, soaking his branded shirt. Once I felt light he let me go and wiped my tears. He then placed a soft loving kiss on my head, caressing my hair. 

"This will be the last time you cry for that reason whatever that was." He said placing a kiss on my forehead, his fingers softly massaging my hair. I closed my eyes and took a few breaths to regain my composure.

"I... I was scared." I said stuttering holding his arm tightly.

"I'm sorry for not being here princess." He said taking my hands in his and kissing the back of my palm. The guilty expression etched on his face made my heart tug painfully. I am seeing him this vulnerable for the first time. He's still in the same clothes he was wearing yesterday and his eyes are red, with dark circles. 

"Don't be. You were the one who sent that man to me right? You always protected me whether you were around or not. Don't say sorry." I said wiping away his tears and kissing his eyes. He chuckled and attached our foreheads.

"Thank you," I said resting my head on his chest. 

"For?" He asked caressing my hair with one hand while his other hand was around my shoulders.

"For being with me every time I need you. I know you were the one who always made sure I was safe." I said interlacing our fingers and kissing his knuckles. The time that man came to me and Rana Ji's car came to pick me up I figured out it was Rana Ji who appointed those people to protect me. It was always him. 

"Trust me when I say this Aarushi, There is nowhere else I would want to be if not with you." He said and pulled me closer. His embrace gave me the peace I was lacking for the last 32 hours. It may be because he was the one who saved me that day too. Maybe my heart and mind feel that he will save me again if I am in a problem. We sat in comfortable silence for some time while I enjoyed the peace and safety I found in his arms.

"Go take a shower Rana Ji," I suggested, pulling back a little.

"Will you be alright?" He asked caressing my cheeks. His affectionate touch made butterflies erupt in my stomach and a smile formed on my lips on its own accord. I nodded slightly and he placed another kiss on temple nodding his head.

"I will be back in 10 minutes. Here watch this until I come back," He gave me his phone playing my favorite video song, and left from there. He came back when the video was about to complete, leaving me amused. 

"The video just ended," I informed him. He got into the bed beside me and wrapped his hands around my shoulder.

"Hmm," He hummed placing a kiss on top of my head. 

"How did come before the video ended?" I asked, drawing patterns on his chest. 

"I didn't want you to get scared being alone. So, I kept a timer to come back to you before the video ends," He confessed, crushing me into his arms and making tears well up in my eyes. What did I even do to deserve a person like him? 

"Don't think much, Aaru. Let's sleep?" He asked gently patting my head and I nodded. He laid down and pulled me into his arms. I snuggled into his chest and he slept like a baby within seconds. 

I kept looking at him, admiring his features while he slept wrapping his hands around me. He occasionally patted my head in sleep making me smile at his sweet gesture. He woke up by evening and we both had our dinner. The next day we were having our breakfast when I decided to finally ask him to take me out.

"Let's go shopping!" I announced and he looked at me with confusion on his face as we walked to the kitchen to place the dirty dishes.

"We have to shop for our functions," I said putting the plates in the sink and washing my hands. 

"Are you sure?" He asked putting on his plate and washing his hands. He looked like he was trying to absorb my words and figure out what was running in my mind.

"Very much! I want to enjoy these moments with you rather than crying over the past." I replied and hugged him tip-toeing. He kissed my crown and nodded. I went to change while he made a call. Kabir bhai bought a few clothes for me to wear. I don't know what my brothers said but neither of my parents called me in these 2 days.

I got ready and walked out. He smiled at me and extended his hand which I gladly took. He lifts me in bridal style sweeping me off the ground.

"Rana Ji! What are you doing?" I asked wrapping my arms around his neck and resting my head on his chest.

"Just trying to complete my exercise which I missed the last few days." He joked making me laugh. I hit his chest and he chuckled.

"Where are we going?" I asked once he placed me in the car and fastened my seatbelt.

"You will see." He replied and kissed my forehead before closing the door. He took his seat and started driving off. We reached a boutique that he booked for us. 

I tried a few dresses and showed him. We both selected my outfits first and then we selected his outfits. However, we were able to finalize the outfits for only 2 functions. We had lunch and started searching for other outfits but couldn't. He said we would visit again tomorrow and we left from there. 

"Do you want to have dinner Sweetheart?" He asked making my heart flutter. I blushed at his endearment. He never fails to make me blush like a tomato.

"I want to cook...with you," I said looking out due to shyness. He took my hand and kissed it saying 'as my princess wishes'. 

We reached his guest house and placed the bags in. We went to the kitchen and took the required ingredients. 

I washed the vegetables while he took out the other required materials. I was about to cut the vegetables when he lifted me and made me sit on the kitchen counter.

"I will do the cooking. You just need to supervise." He said tugging my hair behind my ear and started cutting the carrots.

"That's not fair Rana Ji," I whined. He chuckled and fed me a piece of carrot.

"Everything is fair in love and war my dear Aaru, and this king is a master in both." He said kissing my cheeks and getting back to cutting the vegetables.

"Let me help na!" I pouted. I know it's immature but I can be like this only with these three people. 

"Okay!" He said and put me down again. I knead the dough while he cuts the vegetables. I made rotis while he made the curry. We prepared the salad together. 

"Let's have dinner." He said and carried me to the dining table. We both fed each other and he took me to the room I was staying. He tugged me in and was about to leave but I held his hand and gestured for him to stay. He nodded and slipped under the covers. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and I rested my head on his chest. I dozed off peacefully in his warm and secure embrace.
