THIRD PERSON'S POV:
"She.... Isn't my daughter...", she was on the verge of tears but she held back.
"I didn't have parents growing up. I was basically homeless. At the age of 17, I started to give up on life. I didn't care anymore if I ate enough or if I slept enough. I didn't care while crossing a road if I'd end up getting hit by a car. I thought, who'd care if I die anyway? I was...", tears forced themselves out of her eyes. Changbin set in silence. After all, he couldn't just say 'it's ok' since it wasn't a minor injury or pain that could heal with consolation.
"Then one day, I was walking down a dark alley. There was this man and he threw something in one of those giant trash cans. I wasn't going to look there or anything but the voice of a crying baby made me stop on my tracks. I was confused as to why I'd be hearing the voice of a child coming from a literal trash can so I took a look at it. I was flabbergasted myself to see a child wrapped in a soft blanket but all dirty due to being in the trash can. I picked it up which I shouldn't have because after picking it up, I just couldn't get myself to leave it there. To this day, I regret picking her up. Maybe if I hadn't picked her up, I could've died peacefully. I just have to live for her now.", she wiped her eyes to dry the tears."I didn't think that turning around into a dark alley, taking a shortcut, would end up changing my life completely."
"It was the right choice, Mari.", Changbin spoke up."I may not know how hurt you were or how hard your life is but what I do know is that you're a kind hearted woman. No matter what you do, you do have something in your heart that no one does.", Changbin smiled to assure her.
"Wow, Mr. Seo. You're good with words.", she teased at which Changbin chuckled.
"It felt good to see you sharing something with me.", he smiled.
"It felt good to share.", she smiled back.
After an hour or two, it was finally time to leave. Though not everything, Mari still shared an important part of her life with Changbin which made him extremely happy. It was as if his dream came true.
"Thanks for today.", Changbin smiled at Mari.
"No, thank you.", she smiled back."I hope we can meet again, Changbin."
"Me too."
"I don't want to lose a good friend like you. Only friend.", her words made Changbin happy internally."Bye, see you soon."
Changbin couldn't say anything as his happiness had taken over his ability to talk so he only waved his hand. After all, what he had wished for so many years, was finally coming true.
He stared at her as she slowly drifted away, sighing and turning around to walk away.
He felt all kinds of emotions that he never felt. It was as if that girl did some magic on his heart. Without knowing her deeply, she was someone who he never wanted to let go. He wanted to keep her and her daughter close so that they won't feel lonely and sad. He wanted to be the type of guy to them that they never got. And to do that, he has to earn their trust.

"Sir, I'm sorry. I promise I won't slack off again. I'm extremely, terribly, sorry.", the guy bowed in front of Changbin. Changbin sighed looking at his hands.
"It's fine. You can go.", Changbin slightly grinned, nodding to reassure him that he can go.
"Woah, hold up. What's wrong with you, sir?", Chorong almost spilled her drink.
"What's wrong?", Changbin asked back.
"Are you in a good mood? You seem to be in a good mood? Why?", she asked.
"Well...",Changbin looked out the small window."...the weather's nice today.", he nodded.
Chorong gasped loudly."Are you in a relationship?", she squealed.
"No!", Changbin almost yelled.
"You are!"
"I'm not"
"Oh, yes you are."
"Look, Chorong. I said I'm not which means I'm not."
"But wait, didn't you like that one girl?", she gasped."Is she your girlfriend now?!"
"No."
"Then, did you fall in love with someone else?"
"No."
"Oh wait, you are doing this to make her jealous!"
"No."
"Then, do you still love that same girl?"
"No."
"What?! Then who is it?"
"No. I-"
"Do you really not love her?"
"No. I mean, yes."
She gasped."Then, you do love her!"
"Yeah, I mean, maybe."
Changbin had turned red at this point.
"Can you stop going into conclusions and let me explain?", he sighed.
"Wow, you're going to tell me?"
"You don't want me to?"
"No, I do. I do. I do.", she dragged her chair with wheels towards Changbin's work table, while sitting on it.
"So...", he started.
After telling Chorong about the dinner they both had together, Chorong nodded as if it was a very serious matter.
"So, you two already went on to your first date when you didn't even start dating.", she had her fingers gripping her chin while she was deep in thought.
"It was a friendly dinner.", Changbin sighed at Chorong's stupidity.
"I like it. Did you ask her for your second date?", she asked with hope.
"No? And it was a friendly dinner.", Changbin sighed for the hundredth time. He was tired of Chorong talking crazy and because of her, for the first time, he wanted to leave early from work.
"What the hell is wrong with you, sir?! I thought you were a gentleman and here you are, a boomer.", she cringed at his 'irresponsibility'. Changbin rolled his eyes.
"Roll your eyes all you want because I'm going to be the one who sails this ship. You can do nothing without me. What is her name, though? I need to name my ship."
"Kim Mari."
