𝐒𝐍𝐈𝐏,𝐒𝐍𝐈𝐏,𝐒𝐍𝐈𝐏. You were cutting out pink and red paper hearts to decorate the hallways and gym with a grumpy look on your face. Why? Valentine's Day was right around the corner. Oh how you hated the sappy holiday when couples are disgustingly smitten with each other. You didn't have the best luck in the love department and was deeply bitter that you had no one to share affection with.
"Aww the hearts look so cute Y/N! They are gonna look amazing." Yoimiya smiled. You, Yoimiya, Ayaka, and Kokomi we're selected to help out and decorate this year's Valentine's Day dance. You really did not want any part in this activity but your friends dragged you along anyway. "Whatever.." you replied, still cutting the paper.
"Come on don't be like that, the dance will be fun." Kokomi added. You just simply rolled your eyes and continued to frown. "Maybe you'd have a better time if you just ask a certain blonde you've liked for ages out already." Ayaka said. You knew exactly who she was talking about.
Kaedehara Kazuha, your best friend and next door neighbor. A sweet, intelligent, tranquil, and very handsome boy that you've had a crush since forever. You two were good friends but you never had the courage to try to become anything more than that.
"I'll ask him out, when pigs fly." You said sarcastically.
"Ayaka's right, you and Kazuha have been friends since the beginning of time and I can see the connection between you two. You should go for it!" Yomiya encouraged Ayaka's words. Kokomi simply agreed with everything they were saying.
"I don't know, I just don't want to ruin our friendship with my feelings. What if he doesn't like me back?" You questioned. That was always you biggest worry. You had a huge fear of rejection. You were afraid of friendships that ended because of one sided love and Kazuha was someone you wanted to keep close.
"It can't hurt to try. At least think about it?" Kokomi had a sympathetic look on her face. Not wanting to talk about it anymore you agreed and the girls cheered.
"Alright let's finish decorating we have two days left. Let's hustle guys!" Yomiya announced. You just sighed and continued your cutting.
Soon enough, the four of you finished, said goodbye, and started heading home. On your walk home you actually started to consider what your friends said. Should you asked Kazuha out? You two are really close and you can't help but notice his subtle acts of affection like always sitting by you or trying to hold your hand. "I'm not going to stress myself out about this.." With that, you decided to let it go and went inside.
