Chapter 1: Reminscing

James woke up, startled. He had been having this awful dream. In the dream, Lily Evans, his fiancee had died. It was so disturbing because the dream felt so real. He was truly in love with Lily Evans and was going to marry her. His parents, however did not approve. James was from a pure-blood family, the lines all purebloods. Lily Evans, however, was a muggleborn. He was deeply in love with her. His parents discouraged his marriage to Lily, however when it seemed that he would not change his mind, they accepted their son's decision. After meeting Lily and her parents, James' parents were throughly impressed and openly embraced Lily and accepted her into the family. The two families along with the bride and groom worked on the wedding planning and a date was picked a date, August 15th, 1978. James was 19 and Lily would be 19 in 3 weeks. The planning was completed, the invations sent out and finally the day was here.

When James first her in second year when they were paired together as potions partners for a difficult potion, he admired her for her talent in potions, and the fact he got a grade that day - usually he ended blowing up the caldron and sometimes injuring himself or others. Later in their friendship he realized that he had feelings for her but Lily didn't feel the same way. She was going out with Severus and beside she didn't like his friends-Remus, Peter, and Sirius. They were always pranking each other and others at Hogwarts. They always seemed to end up in detention-usually for some stupid prank they did that went wrong. Their pranks usually went wrong. But suddenly during the fifth year, Severus called her a MUDBLOOD and that was the last straw. She broke up with him in front of the whole school. For days after, she was see him in the halls crying and sometimes he would even cry during meals. She felt bad that she had broken his heart but he had called her a mudblood and that was one of the worst thing he could have called her, so she felt justified that she had broken it off. And she was happier now. For a while before they broke it off, Severus became distant and he didn't see interested in her anymore and he wasn't exactly romantic. She dated other boys on and off but these relationships never lasted log. In her 7th year when she was appointed Head Girl and he was appointed Head Boy they began dating. She was happier with James than she had ever been with Severus. He was romantic, he was funny, he never insulted her or made her feel uncomfortable. He understood her more than Severus- he understood her need for love, her need to be immersed in everything magical and everything she desired and felt. They were a perfect couple. To many friends of the couple they were, "a match made in heaven", "soul mates", and "destined for each other from the very beginning". This couple was deeply in love and it wouldn't change while they went through Hogwarts or after they graduated. They both graduated from Hogwarts. Lily graduated as Head Girl and with the highest honors they could give her. She was the brightest witch of her age. In later generations she was compared to Hermione Granger. James graduated also as Head Boy, which was a suprise to many because of his behavior and demeanor while he was younger. It was also a suprise to many because he always showed up extremely late to his classes-that is if he showed up at all. He was very bright, but he was just lazy and he let the influence of his friends and his active social life than focusing on his grades and school.

The day he had been waiting for his whole life was here. He woke up early enough to eat a hearty breakfast and lounged around a little bit then got dressed in muggle clothes carrying his tux and other necessary items to his car and drove to King's Cross Station and went to Platform 9 3/4 and boarded the Hogwarts Express. This train takes him to where is going to get married-the quidditch field at Hogwarts. It was 4 weeks before term was due to start so most teachers were at Hogwarts but, of course there were no students. The venue was difficult to get but when you were Head Boy and Head Girl, you can pretty much get whatever you want. The Hogwarts Express blew its whistle and the train took off just like the old days.
