Everyone was gathered around the dinner table, quiet clinks of silverware on plates filling the room. There was a bright, low hanging light above the table that felt like it put you in the spotlight every time you moved.

You looked to your left, Bakugo sitting in his seat silently as he cut up the steak on his plate and shoved a piece in his mouth. Your eyes moved ahead of you, landing on Mitsuki. She smiled, giving you the courage to cut your steak and take a bite too.

She sat next to a man, a spikey-haired brunette. His name was Masaru. He was taller, he wore glasses. He was a lot quieter than Mitsuki and Bakugo. He would look at you with an apology in his eyes every time Bakugo and his mom erupted in a small argument at the dinner table.

You didn't mind it, in fact you thought it was quite funny. It honestly made you look up to Mitsuki more. You adored her for the way she handled Bakugos hotheaded attitude and how she could silence him quickly. You wanted to be able to have power like that one day.

"So, Y/N. How's school been going?" Mitsuki chimed in, slicing right through the silence.

"It's been fine. Lots of homework sometimes, but it keeps me productive." You smiled slightly, taking a bite after finishing your sentence.

Bakugo glanced at you, eyeing your lips as you chew. He drowned out the conversation you had with his mom as he watched you.

God, you were beautiful. He loved the way your (h/c) hair perfectly complimented your (e/c) eyes. He loved the way you looked at him. He loved the way you talked to him. He loved the way you noticed stupidly small things that he says or does.

Bakugo would never admit it, but he cares about you, and a lot at that. He was just confused. He's never felt this feeling before.

Sure, he's had relationships before UA, but he's never felt this drawn to a person. On the first day when you walked in, you were all he could think about. It was hard for him not to, since you sat right in front of him.

Bakugo hated himself for liking you. He hated himself for wanting to be around you. He made a promise to himself to not gain or attract distractions while he was at UA, but that promise was long forgotten when he laid eyes on you. Your attitude, your stubbornness, your smile, your admiration, your strong will.

You were perfect to him. That was a lot for him to realize.

The way you talked to his mom, the way you glanced at him with a small smile while you made conversation.

He wanted you, but he wasn't even sure that you felt the same way.

Bakugos trance was broken by the sound of the dining chairs scraping the floor. Masaru was no longer at the table, and Mitsuki was getting up.

"I'm gonna go wash these plates up. You guys keep talking while you eat." Mitsuki took the empty plate from Masarus former spot along with hers, then started to the kitchen.
