Alexa and her little brother laughed as they ran away from their older brother, Muchi. He kept chasing them with a smile on his face, "Get back here you two!" He yelled, trying to catch them. Their mother, Isabella, watched from the porch with a smile on her face. Ray laughed as he held his older sister's hand, running away from Muchi. Alexa stuck her tongue out at her older brother as they continued to run around. Muchi stopped and placed his hands on his knees, panting. The two younger sibling giggled and blew raspberries at their older brother, who playfully glared at them in response. All of a sudden, a loud thunder was heard followed by the ground shaking. The three children stumbled, Alexa wrapping her arms around Ray in a protective hold. They looked up at the sky, seeing smoke flowing through the sky above the trees. Isabella stared at the sky, and she could hear the distant sound of large footsteps. She reacted quickly and ran inside, grabbing a few things. She ran back outside and grabbed her three children, "Listen you three, I need you to take these, and run as fast as you can to the gates of Trost District, do you understand?" She said. Alexa and Ray looked scared as Muchi looked at his mother, "What's going on, Mama?.." He nervously asked, holding his little siblings hands. Alexa and Muchi were only a year apart, while Ray was about 3 years younger than them. Muchi is 10, Alexa is 9, and Ray is 7. Isabella looked down at her children, "Don't ask any more questions. Hurry up and grab your horses from the stables and go! Promise me you three won't look back!" She yelled.

Alexa looked at her mother, terrified, "Momma, what's that?..." She asked, pointing behind them as she covered Ray's eyes. Walking towards them was a 2 meter titan, its eyes set on the family with hunger. Isabella looked terrified, "Hurry, Go! Get your horses and run!" She said, shoving them in the direction of the stables. Muchi picked up his crying little brother and ran to the stables, Alexa not too far behind. Alexa and Muchi got on their horses, Ray holding onto Muchi as they rode. Alexa and Muchi looked back when they heard their mother scream. Alexa and Muchi's eyes widened as they watched in horror of their mother being picked up of the ground by the 2 meter titan. "MOMMA!" Alexa called out in fear. Isabella looked towards her with a terrified expression, "NO! KEEP RUNNING!" She yelled, right before she was stuck in the mouth of the titan, and bit in half. Alexa and Muchi watched with horror as their mother's blood splattered through the air and onto the ground. Muchi and Alexa quickly looked forward again and made their horses speed up as Muchi held onto a crying Ray.

Eventually, the three siblings arrived at the Trost gate, as the Garrison Guards quickly let them in. They rode for about 2 hours until they arrived at Trost, and now had to ride another 30 minutes to get to their final destination. Ray was asleep in Muchi's arms as they rode, Alexa right behind the two on her own horse. Her head was hanging low, the look of terror still on her face. Her grip on her horse's reigns tightened as Muchi's horse stopped. Her horse stopped as well as she looked up at her older brother. Muchi slid off his horse's saddle and onto the ground, Ray asleep in his arms. Alexa looked at the house in front of them and gulped. She slid off her horse's saddle and followed behind her older brother as he walked to the front door of the house. Muchi slowly raised his hand up and knocked on the door, using his other arm to hold Ray, while Alexa stood behind him. The door slowly opened to reveal a beautiful woman with brown hair and blue eyes. She looked down at the three children and gasped, "Muchi, Alexa? What are you three doing here, where's your mother?"  She asked, crouching down to the children's heights. Alexa tensed up and tears swelled up in her eyes, "A-Auntie, Momma's dead... A titan a-ate her..." She sniffled as Muchi swallowed hardly, tears appearing in his eyes. Ray shifted in his sleep and clung onto his older brother, shaking.

Their aunt, Evelyn, gasped as tears appeared in her eyes. Her dear sister was eaten by a titan? She had a devasted look on her face as she looked down at the three. She had no other choice. she had to do it now, as she only had about a year left. She sighed, "Alexa, Muchi, put Ray on the couch, me and your uncle are going to take you two somewhere." She said quietly. Muchi looked up at her, "Then who's going to watch him while we're gone?"  He spoke. Muchi was very protective of his little siblings, while Alexa was the strong and speedy one, Muchi was the one for defending, and Ray was the book smart one. "The maid's will, honey." Evelyn said as she took Ray from Muchi, placing the small child on the couch. She took Alexa and Muchi by the hands and led them outside into the large backyard. Her husband, Noah, was already in the backyard. He looked at three and sighed. He didn't want to do this, as these were his niece and nephew. He wasn't looking forward to shortening their lives, but he and his wife didn't have that much longer anyways. Evelyn stood Muchi and Alexa next to each other, but a good distance apart. She smiled at the two, "Close your eyes you two, this will only hurt for a split second." She said. Alexa and Muchi looked at each other with confusion before they closed their eyes. 

The twins felt a pain in their arms before they both fell unconscious. Evelyn and Noah both watched with determined faces as a shield of bright yellow lightning surrounded the two children. Two hideous titans appeared and looked down at the two. Evelyn ran over to Alexa's titan and looked up at her as she was picked up, "Alexa! Protect your brothers at all costs! I'm giving you the power of the combat titan! Use this power to protect humanity from the lives outside the walls!" She screamed before her back was snapped in half and she was swallowed whole by the titan, that then went limp. Muchi's titan grabbed ahold of Noah and bit him in half, his blood splattering everywhere. The titan then ate the other half before it went limp as well. Steam began to erupt from the napes of  the titans, and out fell Alexa and Muchi with red streaks coming down their cheeks from underneath their eyes.
