I let out a sigh of relief as we sat down on the plane. Today we are moving to Hamburg because of my parents' work (whatever they do...who knows). Ever since I was a baby, they would leave me home alone for hours and expect me to take care of myself so I learned from a very young age how to live on my own(a/n- it's very much serving matilda💅)
As I sat on the plane I got caught up in my own thoughts. 'Why do my parents do that? I know I have it good but they could at least be there' I thought to myself, not noticing my mom talking to me. "Y/n! She asked if you wanted anything to drink'' she gestured to the nice flight attendant who was offering beverages. I nodded my head and declined, leaning my head back against the cold window of the plane.
"I know this is a big adjustment but it will be great for our business and you will be going to a great school" she explained, 'her voice is so annoying' I think.
"Yeah I know, I'm excited" I put on a fake smile and lay back down. The flight was fine, I fell asleep and just as we were landing, my mom shook my shoulders, waking me up.
"We're here, come on let's go get our bags and grab some lunch, and then we will go to the house"
Our old relatives had a house in Hamburg that we bought and were going to be living in for however long we were here.
A few hours later
We got some lunch and I was just starting to unpack some stuff at the house when I heard my dad's voice ringing through the walls of the house. He had been in Hamburg on early business already so we flew out while he was here. I heard my parents talking in the other room while I unpacked and I scurried over to the door to eavesdrop on their conversation.
"Y/n is already 12, she's bound to get into trouble soon, she knows how to take care of herself"
I heard my dad faintly through the thick wooden door.
"She will still need an older figure to go to while we're away on business" my mom argues. Though the rest of their conversation came out in bits and pieces through my wall, I knew they were talking about me the whole time, about where I should go, who to stay with etc. I was sick of it.
They treated me like I was really responsible and adult but would doubt my ability to take care of myself.
They had always been like that and I guess moving hasn't changed that, in fact I have a feeling it's going to be even worse.
I walked out of my room and into our new kitchen where my parents were talking.
"Hi sweetie, we were just discussing who you will stay with while we go out on business" my mom says, putting on a squeaky annoying voice.
"Who i will be staying with?" I question, they almost never leave me with other people unless they leave for a long time.
"Yes you will be staying with someone while we are gone, we will be away for at least a month so we are looking into someone to take care of you" she looks at me with cold emotionless eyes. As if she was gonna turn me to stone with her stare.
"Okay" I match her cold energy and turn around to walk to my room before she says one last thing.
"And you start school tomorrow" she adds. She really knows how to piss off a 12 year old, bringing school up like that. What a menace...
I walk off into my room and fall into my bed like a ragdoll. 'Why can't I just have a day of peace' I think, my eyes beginning to water. I wipe off the tear under my eye and finish unpacking a box... this is going to be a very interesting lifestyle.
