Lifty scuffled through the garbage... alone, Shifty was busy planning something with his friends and told him to find something valuable if he wants to help and so far it was unsuccessful.
He was on his tip toes going deeper into the garbage till he felt himself about to fall inside it ah crap Lifty mentally prepared to fall into the heap of garbage something grabbed him by the tail and pulled him back onto the ground.
"oof" was the only sound he made when he fell on his flank. Getting up and turning around to see the person who helped him Lifty felt surprised to see the red squirrel floating a bit.
"Are you okay" Splendont cupped his face, Lifty blushed embarrassed.
"Ya, I'm okay" Lifty moved Splendonts hands down till they both flexed them together.
"Okay, be careful next time", Splendont held Lifty's hand tightly- but not too tight that it would hurt, the red furred Squirrel noticed a ice cream stand that seemed to be operated by a white fluffy cat with blue collar "hey wanna get some ice cream"
"Sure" Lifty smiled as Splendont (practically) walked him towards the ice stand and requested for some of the cold sweet dessert "I will have a chocolate one please" Lifty politely asked looking at Splendont to see what he'll order.
Splendont Blinked "I'll take a chocolate as well" the Ice cream scooper scooped the ice cream "that'll be 4.00"
Lifty went into his pockets to pay "I'll pay" Splendont handed it to the money to the cat
"okay have a wonderful day".
The evening sky casted a calming scenery...
They both ate their ice cream under the tree, Lifty licked his ice cream with joy till he noticed how deep in thought Splendont was " hey, is something on your mind" Splendont looked at him and sighed "I don't know how to explain this, I know I'm supposed to be the great splendid's rival, his eyes exact clone but.... I don't feel like that. I don't feel like my masculine and I don't really feel a well feminine either" Splendont curled himself into a ball wrapping his tail below his knees Lifty tilted his head a bit.
Lifty then scooted closer to Splendont "I might not understand completely but I will be here to support you" Splendont smiled slowly uncurling and rested his head on Lifty's.
(So if you don't understand what I was going for here basically I headcannon Splendont as Non-Binary)
