Arabs aimed to Islamize, spreading their life.
Amidst this turmoil, India sought a leader true,
Rawal Khuman emerged, to defend and subdue.In the annals of Mewar's history, we find,
Three kings named Khuman, but the second defined.
For fighting Arab invaders, his timeless quest,
From the 8th to the 10th century, he was the best.Historical evidence, though scarce, unveils,
In "Khuman Raso," the tale of his trails.
Penned in Rajasthani's script divine,
A saga of courage, through the sands of time.From 820 to 860 AD, his reign held sway,
For forty noble years, he kept foes at bay.
After Bappa Rawal's demise, the Arabs feared,
To cast their gaze upon India, they steered.But Khuman's era saw the Caliph's command,
Hashim, a commander, with an invading band.
Entering Rajasthan through Gujarat's shore,
To face Raja Nagabhatta, a fierce uproar.In this fateful clash, Hashim met his fall,
Defeat instilled fear in the invaders' gall.
To thwart their wicked aims, Khuman was pressed,
A grand alliance of kings, his call to invest.Under saffron's banner, they gathered in might,
Forty dynasties, from morning till twilight.
Kashmir to Kanyakumari, united they stood,
Against the Arab invaders, in brotherhood.Khuman challenged those who defiled sacred ground,
Demons who dishonored sisters, causing wounds.
Arab wolves with corrupted souls, bidding on kin,
Together, they vowed to cleanse this grievous sin.India's army united, a feat so grand,
Rarely witnessed, across this ancient land.
The battle between Khuman and Mahmud ensued,
Har Har Mahadev, the warriors' cry imbued.With hundred thousand warriors, noble and true,
Thirty lakh cavalry, a formidable crew.
Nine thousand elephants, a majestic array,
And seven lakh foot soldiers, ready to sway.According to Amarkavyam, the ancient lore,
Khuman's army triumphed, like never before.
The Arab forces sliced, like carrot and radish,
Mahmud, their leader, captured, his fate so lavish.
