Miki felt like she was shaking the entire drive to the lake, she found it difficult to breathe as she and Rutger listened to Taylor Swift.
Luca had called her notifying her where she was driving to and how some of the boys were bringing their girlfriends.
"You okay?" He asked, sending Miki back to reality, Rutger was watching her almost the entire drive there. He could clearly tell something was making her uncomfortable and he didn't really know what to do.

"Hm? Yeah I'm uh, i'm good" she said, brushing him off and keeping her eyes on the road, her palms red from brushing her hands nervously against the leather covering the steering wheel. He just nodded at her response, softly placing his hand on her thigh, trying to find some sort of way to comfort her.

She finally looked over to him right when he had his head turned towards the window, she was thankful he couldn't see how red she felt but she felt good like this with him.

She wasn't going to complain considering how awkward this would've been if it wasn't Rutger doing it.
She did not want him moving at all.

The Lake

"Hey boys!" Miki yelled over the group of boys piled outside their cars, Rutger offered to grab her bag from the backseat as she made her way over to the group.
The first person to bring her into their arms was Luke but only briefly before Luca got her attention and wouldn't let her go from his reach, once Rutger made it over to the group Miki was introduced to Phil's girlfriend; Khiana.

She was gorgeous, she and Miki immediately hit it off pretty quick, the girls complimenting and making jokes with each other.
Luca throwing the swim trunks to Rutger, him and Miki made their way over the restroom that were basically porta potties.

Both stepped out at the same time, clothes in hand, Rutger's swim trunks were a light blue with a red waistband and Miki's bikini was a light orange. The moment she saw him she let her eyes wander, she observed his tan skin that makes his eye pop, every defined muscle showing how attractive he was; standing right in front of her.
"Looking good Groarty!" Luca yelled, snapping the girl out of her thoughts she looked up to meet Rutgers gaze just to find he was already watching her.

His mouth partly opened and his eyes looking down at her, watching her nibble slightly on her lip. She felt self conscious being so exposed in front of him, but she hid that part of herself; that vulnerability and smiled up at him.

She moved her head in the direction of their friends, walked over with Rutger not far behind, "it's lake time!" She sang, linking arms with Luke and rushed them over close to shore and set up her towel on the sand.

She was standing near the water, looking around to where she was, what parts of the water was better to swim in when all of a sudden she was thrown over someone's shoulders.
"Let's do this!" Mark yelled, running him and Miki straight into the water, over his shoulder she screamed and laughed. She slightly panicked before she was thrown right into the water and once she lifted her head for air she burst out laughing with Mark, splashing him multiple times with water as the rest of the group joined them quickly after.

After about an hour most of the group just hung out on shore, a certain four however were playing multiple rounds of shoulder wars. Miki was on top of Mark's shoulders fighting against Khiana who was on Phil's shoulders, so far Miki was winning or so she thought before Mark lost his balance and tipped her over causing the couple they were going against to cheer and declare their victory to the others outside of the water.

The Fantilli brothers were caught up in their own conversation but Rutger, Luke, Johnny, and Dylan were headed into the water.
"Well," Johnny said, clapping his hands together, "the others back there are talking about god knows what but do y'all wanna play some games?" A smile on his face, 'he's definitely thinking about something weird' Miki thought to herself.
She looked at Mark who gave her a shrug and they both agreed to join in, why not right?

"Great, let's play some good old truth or dare." They all stopped doing their own thing in the water, Khiana laughed, "what is this? High school I mean there isn't any other game in your head?" She asked.
Johnny shook his head laughing at her reaction, Miki tried rolling her eyes subtly which Johnny caught.

"Okay Mik, since you're so enthusiastic, truth or dare?" A smile plastered on his face, Miki just glared at him, clearly annoyed at his behavior. Everyone else waited for a reaction from her, but she just inhaled, "truth." She exhaled, waiting for that damn question.

"Why'd you really start working for the hockey team?" Miki wanted to wipe that damn smile off his face, she knew exactly what game he was trying to play. "To get more experience with photography along with the fact that it was an amazing offer," she said tensely, everyone stayed silent.
"You sure that's the only reason?" Johnny responded, smirking as he looked at the other boys around them earning a slap to his chest from Luke.

"And what the hell is that supposed to mean?" Her jaw clenched, "oh nothing just.. well, you don't plan on becoming a puck bunny once the season starts do you?" He laughed slightly, a disgusted look on Miki and Khiana's face and an embarrassed one on the others.

"Dude stop being a fucking prick" Mark broke the silence rolling his eyes, "sorry Mik, we know you wouldnt-"
"Is that what you guys think I'm doing here? Trying to get close to you just to become a puck bunny to you guys?" Her voice cracked, she was clearly hurt, confused if anything that her friends possibly joked around about her. 
"No it's not like that, he's just being an ass I swear.
We don't think of you like that I promise, we actually have respect." Rutger said, looking directly at Johnny on the last part, he gave her a small smile but Miki just looked at the water surrounding them.

"Johnny truth or dare?" Khiana asked, her arms folded to her chest and a resentful look on her face. "Truth." His eyebrows pushed together,
"Who hurt you?" She laughed, the group burst out laughing, Miki covering her mouth as she laughed at Johnny's stunned face.
He stayed in shock before shaking his head, clearly pissed off he got out of the water and joining the brother on the shore.

"We know how seriously you take the job Miki," Mark said, earning nods from the other boys. "I know it's just irritating that he'd even say that? Feeling like he doesn't respect me or what I'm contributing to the team." Miki exhaled before floating on her back to continue swimming before anyone could make a comment.

Eventually Dylan got out to talk to Johnny while Luca and Adam joined the others in the water, having fun while Miki just did her own thing around them. Rutger joined her after a while, "hey." His cute smile made Miki's chest warm, "hi" she said, her voice quiet and gentle.

Rutger got closer and they swam around with each other before settling in an area closer to the rocks surrounding an area of the lake, not realizing how far away they were from their friends.

They looked at each other, neither bothering to look away, getting closer and closer to each other until their chests were practically touching.
Miki's breath was caught in her throat when rutger's eyes lowered down to her lips then closely moved back up to her eyes, he swallowed hard not knowing what he should do next.
"Hey you two over there!" They heard Adam yell from the other side of the rocks, finally breaking their attention away from each other and to the voice coming from not too far away.
She looked back up at the boy before giving him a small smile which he returned, her head ached as she swam with him back to their friends, realizing what was possibly going to happen between her and Rutger.
