"Sombra, time to target." Reaper inquired in my earpiece.

"Two minutes out. Kuda and I are about to kick the door." I relayed.

"Good. Widowmaker is in position. Don't mess this up." He barked.

"Doors good!" Sombra yelled from the rooftop above me.

"Knock, knock." I cracked my metal knuckles and barreled thru the entire blast door with ease.

Many soldiers began to open fire on me and I could do nothing but raise my arms to block the bullets. Thankfully, the Behemoth is equipped with enough armor not to be affected by small arms fire like this, but prolonged exposure may serve to jeopardize the hull integrity.

"Sombra!" I yelled but my machine just roared loudly.

"Lights out." She giggled.

I punched my fists together to create an electric charge between the two, then raised them up and smashed them into the ground barbarian style. The shockwave electrified all of the soldiers in the room and left me to stand tall within the darkness. The suits thermal optics allowed me to still easily see, but I could tell the glow from my metal body was parting the void I stood in.

"Room clear." Sombra relayed on comms for me.

"Widowmaker?" Reaper sounded off.

"Ready to snare." She coldly said, tho with a bit of a smirk as due to the reference of spiders.

"Kuda. Time to go." Sombra told me on comms.

I saw her on a high catwalk and followed below on the ground floor. I came to a set of blast doors and managed to get my metal fingers between them, forcing them apart and breaking them open when I stepped thru. Before me was a glowing core of energy that was live with conduction. I stepped forward and peeked up to see Sombra watching from the catwalk above.

"We're here. Initiating overload." Sombra relayed.

I walked up to it, electrified my metal hands and grabbed each side of the core. I sent a plethora of volts into it but I was immediately grabbed and ripped away to the floor with a tumble. I quickly rolled back to my feet and faced what looked to be a large robot with a person housed within its protective glass. It was a machine clearly designed for the heavy lifting of massive or awkward objects. It's pilot was clearly a high ranking soldier with nothing left to lose as I saw him angrily clench his teeth.

"Come on! Let's do it then!" He beckoned, not liking my hesitation.

"Muerte!" Sombra yelled on comms.

"What?" Reaper responded ticked off.

"One of the soldiers is still alive. He's grabbed a utility suit and is stopping us from overloading." Sombra urged.

"Have Kuda deal with it. We're busy." He growled back as fire could barely be heard cutting out.

"We don't have time for this! Just put him down!" Sombra yelled from the catwalk.

I punched my fists together and chuckled which made my machine audibly growl. He screamed a war cry and charged me, forcing me to interlock my metal hands in his claws. I slid back from the impact but the struggle for power didn't last long. He kicked my leg hard which knocked me off balance and allowed him to execute a throw. He lugged my vessel over his machine's shoulder and tossed me crashing thru a metal wall outside. I rolled and slid until I was able to stand within a wide open area of the facility. I braced myself just as the man shoulder checked me with his vessel. I held him back, came to a stop, dropped a fist low and brought it up to knock him off balance. The force itself cracked his glass as he stumbled to stay upright. He reeled a claw back and it transformed into a drill made of steel. It spun and he charged me with it but this time I put to use what I had been caught off guard by before. I knelt to duck the drill, kicked out his leg and lugged him over my shoulder with a powerful toss. He flew high into a wall and bounced off it to fall onto the ground. The machine he piloted was in a state of disrepair which kept it there as debris collapsed on top of it. I stood strong, brushing off scuffs and dents acquired during the brawl.

"Not bad." Reaper had approached, witnessing my work with some sort of approval.

We completed the mission and got back to the hideout when I noticed the others had forgotten to walk me over to deactivate my machine. They kept walking, sure, but they weren't keeping a close eye on me like they usually do. Not this time.

"You coming, gigante?" Sombra stood next to the struts that support my vessel when I'm no longer in it.

I just stood still, not wanting to take another step. I put my metal hand over my hull, wishing not to be returned into my weakened, fragile human body.

"Mm-mm." I slowly shook my head as I was able to manipulate the machines auditory outputs to replicate certain hums.

It was becoming easier to express myself thru the mechanics of the Behemoth. Sombra just tilted her head.

"Don't make me." Reaper drew a shotgun at me.

"Wait! I think we should let him keep it on." Sombra stated as if it were an article of clothing.

"Are you insane?" Reaper glared at her.

"If it doesn't work out, I'll hack him and shut him down. Bueno?" She approached me and turned to face him.

He just groaned out of frustration and annoyance.

"Fine. But if you can't shut it down, I will." Reaper looked at me.

Interesting that he referred to me as it there.

"Yea, yea, don't get your panties in a twist." Sombra leaned on my shell and blew a bubble of gum.

Reaper just shook his head and walked off to some other part of the building.

"You hear that? You don't gotta get beat up anymore. You're welcome by the way." Sombra gestured in front of me.

I looked down at myself, tried to touch my throat again, couldn't and just found myself looking around. Then I put my hands together and bowed my head, remembering that to be a physical expression of gratitude.

"Right, I forgot you can't speak in that thing." She put a hand on her hip.

I simply nodded to confirm.

"Well? You ready to get back to it?" Sombra smiled up at me.

The other members of Talon also wondered what my answer might be now that I was free from Rammatra's shackles. I think they were more concerned about my compliance, but an odd energy shift occurred in the room. It was like in that moment, they all understood that I could be trusted. My mindset also changed to view them as my enablers, allowing me to exist in this half-life state within my robotic vessel. It may not have been the most ideal situation to be in, but both parties made the best of it. I felt a lick of confidence flow thru me as I fully accepted my new place among the team. I was officially a member of Talon now, and I had to play my part.
