The Bumpy Road I Like To Call Life.

Chapter 1 : This is going to be one hell of a year!!

"Alexandra." Ahh great what a lovely start to my seventh and final year at Hogwarts, James bloody Potter to annoy the hell out of me. Just great! Well not today, so I started walking faster. "Alexandra Wood." Walk faster Alex. "Hey, wait up!" Come on Alex you can walk faster than that. But I'm stopped by a hand grabbing my shoulder, shoot!! Merlin this is just so unfair, curse his stupid Quidditich skills.

"Merlin, Alex you think you could slow down, like anyone would think you were trying to get away from me!!"

"Gosh we wouldn't want anyone thinking that now would we Potter," I said sarcastically

He removed his hand from my shoulder and said, "My name is James!" and then grinned crookedly at me "but I suppose you my dearest can call me honey, love, Darling, sweethe..."

"No I think I will stick to Potter thanks," I said while flicking my long blonde hair over my shoulder and took his moment of distraction as my chance to start speed walking again and pray to Merlin I would be gone before he noticed my absence. Of course I had no such luck and I heard him panting trying to keep up with me, I turned the corner and I saw my destination the prefect's compartment, I bolted towards the door and once inside slammed it shut. I then sank into one of the plush couches and waited to see who the new Head Boy would be, as I had gotten Head Girl this year and had to meet the Head boy before the meeting with the prefect's started.

I opened my handbag and got out my Magi-pod, put an earphone into each ear and let myself sink further into the couch while listening to the music. I had closed my eyes so I didn't notice anyone come in until I felt the couch sink down a bit more under their weight. "I guess I finally get to meet the new Head Boy," I thought. 

I opened my eyes to see James bloody Potter with the biggest bloody smile, I have ever seen on his face. I couldn't believe it, to say I was shocked was an understatement

"You're the New Head Boy," I said through gritted teeth while removing the earphones from my ears and pausing the song I was listening to.

"In the flesh darling," he winked while I glared at him which only made him smirk even more.

"Oh for the love of Merlin of all the boys Minnie could of picked she had to pick you, UGH why me?"

"You're just lucky I guess, I know me personally I couldn't be happier that you ended up Head Girl, you know I think this is going to be the best year ever," he paused and looked at me with that look he always had when he was, oh Merlin please don't. "Say Alex, would you fancy going to the start of year party with me?" UGH there it is, he does this every year at least once a week.

"In your  dreams potter!" I spat as I got up and sat down on a different couch to him.

"I'll get you to say yes one day one day, Alex!" he said while getting up and following me over to the new couch and sitting down beside me.

"That's never going to happen Pot...."

"You said yes in third year, remember?"

"Oh yeah sorry I tend to block out bad memories especially one's of my boyfriend snogging my best friend!"

"Alex that was a big mistake, you forgave Leah, why can't you forgive me? Just give me another chance, I haven't snogged or even been with anyone since we broke up! Alex I'm in love with you and I'll keep waiting till you give me another chance even if that means dying an old and broken hearted man."

I snorted, I know very attractive but who cares this is Potter we are talking about! "Yeah, yeah whatever you say Potter." And then all of a sudden his lips were on mine. I tried to push him away, but he just took this as encouragement and kissed me even more. Oh no Alex, you have to stop this, you'll only get hurt again. Finally we broke apart as the train jerked to a start.

I slapped him across the face. "How dare you, you .......you Git!" I screeched at him. I stood up fixed my hair and robes just in time, as all the prefects started to file in.

I gave Potter one last glare before turning around and smiling at all the prefects. "Welcome back everyone . I'm your new Head Girl Alexandra Wood and ......." I said before being interrupted by Git face himself.

"And I'm your New Head Boy James Potter. " As he said this almost  all the girls in the compartment swooned and batted their eyelashes at him. (Notice I said almost all the girls, I do not swoon over arrogant Gits like Potter, my type is more George Hullman now he is what I call swoon worthy! But that is a story for another day.) And causing his brother Al to roll his eyes, I always liked Al, definitely  more trustworthy than his good for nothing brother. Anyway back to the meeting.

"Yes, well now that we have introduced ourselves, I'll just get on with it, you all know you have to do  patrol at least twice a week, the sign up sheet can be found on your house notice board and that's about it," I said before sighing and looking at Potter to say. "James anything you would like to add?"

At my words he grinned at me and said, "No darling, that's about everything, you can all go back to your friends now."

As soon as they were gone he turned to me and said, "You called me James." Oh shoot, shoot, shoot, first I let him kiss me and now I call him James, SHOOT!!!

"Well we have to act civil in front of them, Potter, for appearance sake!" I say to him as I gather my stuff up and get ready to leave.

"Wait, Alex where are you going?"

"I'm doing what you said Potter, I'm going to sit with my friends!" And with that I pulled open the door and left without a backwards glance. All I could think was, "this is going to be one hell of a year!"
