Now you see, my brother was a great man

Now you see, my brother was a great man. A great father. A great... brother.

But unfortunately, it didn't end so well for him.

He started off his career at a young age with me.

We would listen to music and play random beats whenever we could.

I don't think our parents thought he was serious about being a DJ. Let alone  musician.

But through the years, he did.

He enjoyed his job and got a decent pay.

Me on the other hand,

I was working on my dream.

Something I would soon regret in later years. Something that would probably be the end of me.

I had a friend. We met in our Elementary.

We were both lonely, but we found each other.

In fact, he offered to hold my hand while we were taking pictures for the school in their year book.

We were all young back then. So innocent. We didn't know that some of us would end up criminals and others would end up to be rich and have a better life than any one in that class did.

Trust me. I would know.

One day me and my best friend were working on a video. Some random video we came up with.

"Peanut Butter Jelly Time"

I'm sure you've heard of it. It got popular for a while before it faded away.

During editing with my brother, my friend told me he didn't want to be in the video. So we cut him out and I was the only one dancing,

That's how I earned my title. I still keep it to this day. As a reminder. Good or bad.

You see this song was catchy and it caught onto people quickly.

"Peanut Butter Jelly with  baseball bat"

That's because this friend was also really into baseball at that time. That was his dream.

But he soon tossed it aside to join my dream. Together we would rule the business of game shows. Every one would know us! We wouldn't be just known as those "weird kids who made a stupid video online that got viral out of dumb luck"! We could be something. I would be some thing.

Now back to my brother at this time.

When he got a little older after DJing for 3 years he got himself a girl.

Then she turned into his wife.

And then the kids came crashing down.

Three of them to be exact.

My nephews.

Juicix, Peel, and Citrus.

Or how they preferred to be called:

Andrew, Peel and CJ.

Andrew has told me that he keeps getting harassed at school and he wanted a normal name. Something of the sorts. He said he wanted to blend in, especially after... well, I'm getting to that part.

Well anyway, like I said, my brother Java (or Blue, or DJ Java, or DJ Blue, or Blue Banana, or BD- I'm getting side tracked. He had too many names, that's the point.) was a fairly funny and nice guy. He was a great brother.

He helped me a lot with investing money to start working on the studio for the game show I was going to start.

But then the time came for him to leave...

You see, while him and his family went out for dinner and was on the road heading back home, a bunch of stupid, crazy drunk guys decided that it would be a good idea to have a race on a busy road.

The one car they had to hit was my brother's car. And he didn't survive. Nor did his wife. That car crash killed the both of them.

You want to know who suffered the most from that?

Not me.

But my oldest nephew, Andrew.

Because he was there.

He didn't deserve it. His two other brothers were too young to remember. But what surprised me the most was how well Andrew was able to remember the accident.

After then, because we don't have any other family, they had to live with me.

You see, I have no experience of being a parent. Especially of three children. It was rough at first.

But then I remembered that they were sentient.

They were living.

They also have experience and can take care of themselves.

I talk to them like they're adults, not kids.

I think I've raised them fairly well.

Despite their father and mother passing away four years ago, we were able to recover.

Sometimes when me and Andrew are alone, he'll ask me about how his father was.

I love that he's trying to connect and learn more about him... and sometimes I'll try and lighten the mood with some funny stories like the time we put an egg (which was not sentient) in the microwave and it exploded so we had to clean it all up.

I miss those days.

I wish he was still here.

But sometimes you have to live with the obstacles that life throws at you...

Thats something I've learned.

No matter what it takes.
