LAURENS POV

As the car continued its journey, I peered out of the window and watched as the urban landscape gradually transformed into a sprawling estate.

Tall iron gates stood guard at the entrance, opening to reveal a long, winding driveway lined with immaculate gardens and towering trees.

My eyes widened in awe as we approached the magnificent  Manor.

The grandeur of the mansion was truly breathtaking.

Its Gothic architecture exuded an air of timeless elegance, and the meticulously manicured grounds spoke of opulence and care.

The car came to a stop in front of the main entrance, and I stepped out, my eyes scanning the impressive façade.

"Welcome to Manor," the enigmatic driver, that i had learnt was named  Alfred, said, his voice tinged with pride as he gestured towards the mansion.

 "This is Jason's home."

I couldn't help but feel a mix of astonishment and confusion.

Jason, my casual acquaintance from the city, living in such a magnificent residence seemed inconceivable.

Questions swirled in my mind, seeking answers that eluded me. How was it possible that he had ties to a place like this? What secrets did he hold?

As we entered the mansion, I found myself in a grand foyer adorned with intricate chandeliers and marble flooring.

The air was filled with a sense of history and refinement.

Alfred guided me through the opulent halls, their walls adorned with priceless artwork and heirlooms.

My curiosity grew with every step, and I couldn't help but steal glances at Alfred, searching for hints or explanations.

He seemed unfazed by my bewilderment, his composure unyielding as he led me deeper into the mansion.

Finally, we reached a set of double doors, and Alfred opened them, revealing a lavish living room.

Sunlight poured in rough large windows, illuminating the room and highlighting its luxurious furnishings.

It was clear that no expense had been spared in creating an atmosphere of comfort and sophistication.

"master Todd will be with you shortly," Alfred informed me, his eyes holding a spark of kindness. "Feel free to make yourself at home."

As I stood there, taking in the splendor of the Manor, a mix of admiration and confusion swirled within me.

I couldn't help but be impressed by the sheer magnificence of the place against my dingy apartment.

yet the mystery of Jason's connection to the manor left me perplexed. What was his role in this vast estate, and how did he fit into the grand tapestry of Gotham's history?

As I wandered through the opulent room, I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to this place than met the eye.

The enigma surrounding this building  deepened, and I was determined to uncover the secrets that lay hidden within the Manor's walls.

I hear the doors behind me open and close as I sit down on the elegant sofa.

Jason strolls around the room taking in the place before stopping beside me.

I fail to recognize his presence beside me.

he clears his throat with an amused look.

I whip  my head around like a guilty puppy my eyes wide as if id been caught doing something I shouldn't.
