"Does your leg hurt any?" My ma asked, walking out the house.

"Nah, it's cool." I replied.

I had a boot on my right foot, but it was better than crutches.

"That's good." She carried the last box out the house and place it in the back of the uHaul.

"And you're sure you are good to drive?" She asked again.

"Yes, ma. I promise." I smiled, walking towards the car.

I noticed a car pulling up in the driveway which made me flinch.

I had bad ptsd since the shooting. I never talked about it but it fucked with me mentally. I'm still in disbelief. I can't stand being outside, nor seeing cars creep up on me. Loud noises trigger me too, causing me to flinch or duck. It was getting worse.

"Did I scare you?" Lexi got out of the car.

"Nah." I lied.

"I just wanted to see you before you left. I also wanna get something off my chest." She said.

"Alright, get in." I said, getting into the car. She sat down in the passenger.

"Wassup." I said.

"I worry about you constantly. I wanna be around you all the time, and I hate when you leave. I don't know where these feelings came
from Khi, but I like you and I don't know what to do. You give me nonchalant vibes, but you never push me away. You confuse me all the time, leaving me clueless. I don't like that..." She said.

"My bad, Lexi. My mind been so fucked up lately, even worse than before. I ain't mean to give off mixed signals or nothing. Especially with me bout to leave, I know how that feel. But, I never saw you as more than a link." I shrugged my shoulders.

"But I want you to. We can't at least talk? Be friends? Anything? You took my virginity, Khi." She frowned.

And just like that, it hit me. I took her damn virginity. Does that mean I owe her what she wants in return?

"I hear you Lexi, ima text you. We gon figure sum out." I looked at her.

"I hope you right." She paused before getting out of the car and into hers. She left the neighborhood and I sighed.

"Let's go!" My mom yelled out of the window.

I turned the car on and reversed out, letting her get in front of me.

Finally, we pulled into the subdivision. The houses were bigger, and most were brick.

My phones vibrated and I picked it up seeing my ma was calling.

I laughed at her. "I'm glad you happy."

I continued following behind the Uhaul and soon she pulled into this nice brick house.

"This us?" I asked in disbelief

"All ours, babyyyyy." She drug out, parking the truck.

I parked my car behind her and hopped out.

"Yooo, whattt" I looked around.

She ran up and hugged me. "We did it, Khi. Let's go look inside." She pulled me by my arm and ran to the door.
