Alessia Pov:
Today is the day. The day of the finals. England vs Germany. My anxiety is sky high as we are traveling to Wembley. On the coach, I'm at the back with Ella. My leg is bouncing really fast and my hand is shaking.
I could feel Ella staring at my shaky hand so I quickly looked at her and put my hand in my pocket but before I can she grabs it and squeezes it gently. I can feel myself blushing so I quickly turn my head back to face the window. She whispers something that made me feel at ease. 5 words made me feel like I had nothing to worry about.
"We will win. Don't worry." I smiled at the fact she could read my mind and know what I was thinking about.
Ella Pov:
Today is the day. It's the final. I feel no nerves at all (which I'm really surprised about) instead I feel excited. Alessia hasn't been herself all morning. When we woke up, she said good morning, went into the bathroom,got changed and went to get breakfast. That was it. She has said two words all day. I can tell something is on her mind. I can also tell it's because she is nervous for today.
Me and Less sat at the back of the coach with Leah and Georgia opposite and Keira and Lucy in front. Normally, we would annoy Lucy and Keira if they sat in front of us but I could tell Alessia wasn't in the mood. I looked at her about half way through the journey everyone was chatting and buzzing with excitement but Less was quiet and staring out the window. I saw her hand shaking and her leg bouncing.
She looked at me and tried to put her hand in her pocket but - without thinking - i grabbed her hand and held it. I saw her blush and this made me confused. Does she like me? No of course she doesn't ! But then why was she blushing? She is probably just warm. I decided to push it to the back of my mind and try to calm Alessia's nerves. I whispered in her ear "We will win don't worry." She got goose bumps but just smiled at me. God, I love her smile. Her smile made me smile.
Leah Pov:
I've noticed recently Alessia and Ella have become closer like I know they are best mates but they are looking at eachother different. It's weird. Alessia had told me a while back she was lesbian and liked someone but I never knew who. I had my suspicions but never asked her about it. But, when I saw Alessia blush when Ella grabbed her hand it sealed the deal for me. I knew it was her teammate. I knew it was her best friend. I knew it was Ella Toone. I decided to not ask about it and leave them alone to focus on the game later today which would decide if we win the Euros or lose it all to Germany.
