The words sounded so familiar but my brain wasn't working properly at the moment. My eyes followed his hands as he grabbed the bottle I was holding.
'Not very talkative, are we?' He asked, pushing his curls out of his eyes.
'Sorry, I'm not very good at..parties, I guess?' I laughed, looking at the boy next to me.
He smiled, 'Don't worry, everyone here is drunk so you don't have to be good at anything.'
'What brings you here anyway?' He questioned before taking a swig of the drink, then passing it to me.
'George invited me.' I bluntly stated, running my hand through my shaggy hair that I hadn't cut in months. It had reached my shoulder blades now, which I didn't really like, but I had gotten used to the length so much that I couldn't bear to chop it off.
'Do you wanna go somewhere more quiet?' Matty suggested with a look of genuine sympathy on his face.
I nodded, thinking about how drunk I was getting. I couldn't believe that I hadn't seen him yet when I walked into the party; there were so many people.
He took my hand and we both carefully jumped off the counter. Matty, who had snatched the bottle of vodka from me again, led me to the garden. The patio area was quite empty and dimly lit by the moon, stars and lights that had been scattered around. Matty's house was big, with 4 floors, but somehow this area was darker than the rest.
It was almost spooky if you weren't careful.
He put the bottle down on the grass before sitting down next to it.
His slender legs looked really comfortable and for some reason made me want to sit beside him even more.

We stargazed for a while, not saying a word to each other. It was nice, being able to space out for a bit, without people talking or laughing around us.
After what felt like hours, Matty cautiously moved his warm body closer to mine and delicately intertwined his fingers with mine. I could feel his breath against my skin, making me feel nervous but also excited at the same time.
'This is nice, thank you.' I whispered, breaking the silence.
'I knew it was what you needed.' He sighed contentedly.
Then, I felt my phone buzz. When I got it out, I saw that I got a text from George asking where I was.
'Oh shit, I think I have to go. George is asking where I am.' I let go of Matty's hand and swiftly stood up, brushing any bits of grass that had gotten on my clothes away.
I ran inside, leaving Matty alone in the garden. Soon enough, I ran into George.
'Where were you?' He questioned in a worried tone.
'Dude, I was just outside with Matty. I'm fine, I'm alive.' I told my best friend to calm his nerves.
'You were with Matty?' George questioned further.
'Yeah, is there something wrong with that?' I asked.
'You should stay away from that boy. He's got serious issues.' George grabbed my hand and dragged me to the front door.
'I'm not going to do anything with him, I was just bored because you were somewhere doing god knows what.' I softly giggled.
'Please, promise me that you won't let yourself get involved with him. I know his parties bang but-'
'I promise.'
