By My Side

ambulance

I wake up to my room lit up with the sound of sirens filling my ears. I get out of bed and walk towards my window and see an ambulance outside of the house.

I open my door and run downstairs to the living room to find paramedics taking away my dead mother. Aperrently my father showed back up last night after sixteen years of being gone. He was drunk and killed her.

The parametics told me that my aunt was on her way to get me and that I now am going to be living with her. She lives about three hours away so she should be here soon.

After my mom is gone I slide to the floor and start crying. I ended up falling asleep on floor and am woken up by my aunt shaking me. She helps my put all my stuff in the u-hall and we leave.

I look back at the house I once called my home. Its hard to think that I now am parentless. I will never be able to tell my mom I love her again.

"If you need anything at all dont be afraid to ask, your uncle and I are here for you". My aunt said.

I looked at her and tried to smile so she would think I was okay but a tear slipped down my cheek in the process.

She just gave me a sad smile and turned back to facing the road. It was a long drive and the sun was beggining to come up. It looked so beautiful coming up over the mountains. I remember when I was little me and my mom would just sit out for hours waiting for the sunrise.

We pull into her driveway and my cousin toby comes running out smiling. I havent seen him in over two years. He is my only cousin and the best one you could ask for. Toby is seventeen and is tall with brown hair and green eyes.

"Hey cuz haven't seen you around lately" he said.

Well you'll be seeing me a whole lot more" I said with a smile as he went to give me a hug.

We walked in the house and he showed me my room. It was on the top floor at the end of the hall. My walls were purple and my bed was cream. The room was way bigger than the one at my house. There was a walk-in closet with a big mirror beside it. The bathroom was all black granite with white tiled floors.

My aunt walked in and handed me a card. "Its a debit card, I put three thousand dollars in it so you can go buy some things you need. There is a car in the garage that you can have" she said as she handed me the keys.

I walk to the garage and see a shelby cobra and my eyes grow big. I get in the car and start driving around. I end up driving to a park and just sit there watching. I see kids running around playing with their mothers and I begin to cry.

I sit there for about an hour before deciding I've gonna through enough torture. I start the car and drive home.

Its dark out now and is almost midnight. I pull into the driveway and yell to my aunt that I'm home. I run up stairs and close my bedroom door as I enter it. I plop down on my bed and open my facebook.
I see that my friend Natasha had messaged me.

Natasha:
Hey girl. We all miss you here back at home.

Me:
I know girl I miss you also.

I get up and decide to head to the kitchen. I make some pasta after realising I've been to caught up today to eat anything. My mom being dead has really hit me hard today. I still can't believe she's gone.
