Running hot water and steam rising up, the girl scrubbed her body a tad bit roughly as in to clean it well for today is a very important day, she's transferring to another PD, the Metropolitan police department because her old department, well, didn't help much with her "free time activities".
She stopped the water and stepped out of the shower, wrapping her body in a fresh towel. There was nothing better to her than the feeling of freshness that came after a shower. Water drops fell from her hair to the floor before she wrapped it in a towel as well.
She walked to the kitchen and got the coffee machine on. She smiled at the smell of coffee while frying eggs. Coffee was like water for her, but who can blame her ? She truly led a busy life. She spread some cheese on her toast before starting to eat her breakfast rather quickly. Then, quickly washed the dishes.
It was time to get dressed up. She got out her planned outfit of the day. She slowly put on her underwear, then blew dried her brown long silky hair, then wore her pencil white skirt that ended just above the knee and white blouse. The outfit showed that she had a curvy, somehow muscular figure. She rarely wore skirts but felt like it today.
She finished the outfit with a black belt, golden earrings, and putting on her black high heels. She grabbed her purse and locked the door before heading to her car, pulling out her perfume bottle and spraying a generous amount on herself. Destination? A coffee shop, of course. Everyone there knew her and knew her regular order. A large black coffee.
She walked into the PD quite comfortably. She was greeted by Allison Kerry, a very nice young lady who introduced her to everyone else. Loreli noticed the special look with Eric Matthew's. Lory handed everyone a cup of coffee, and she hoped they liked boring regular coffee.
"Thank you." Said Allison before taking a sip from the coffee, "There is still someone whom I didn't introduce you to."
"Hmm?" Mumbled Lory before following her new colleague's gaze until it fell on a man sitting silently in his desk. He was mesmerizing yet seemed to cherish his loneliness. Her heart skipped a beat as the man shot her an uninterested gaze before looking back at the documents placed before him.
"He's still grieving his sister, who passed away years ago. Poor mon fully isolated himself." Said the woman before pushing Lorelei forward."Go ahead and hand him the coffee. Good luck." She winked at her before walking away.
Lorelei approached him with slow, steady steps. His eyes didn't move at all, even when he answered her knock on the door.
"Hello, in your the new detective. Lorelei Lewis, nice to meet you." Said the girl before offering him her hand to shake.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Detective Mark Hoffman." Said the guy as he firmly yet quickly shook her hand. His gaze didn't rest on her for more than a mere second.
Lory cleared her throat before placing the coffee on his desk and quickly leaving.
"Thank you." He said in a hushed voice.
Lory didn't care much about that as she was more focused on leaving that office asap. And heading to her own office, excitingly.
