Cardinal Copia was sat in his office once more, contemplating the anomaly that was his friend Jasper. There was no way that she could be human, and no way that she would be close to Sister Imperator without a good reason. Typically those close to the sister were Ghouls or the Papa's. However, even copia had a hard time getting through to Sister Imperator as she wasn't the most friendly.

"What are you, cara mía?" He muttered to himself as he flicked through the library archives. He finally had reached another dead end and was close to giving up. "This is frustrating!" He exclaimed to thin air, as he turned around to work on the next shelf.

As he was searching, he came across a small book about Ghouls and he sighed as he recognised the cover. He had read this book millions of times, yet maybe there was something in there that would help him find out more on Jasper.

Hours went by and he finally reached the final pages where the author had written what other books they had published:

'Guides on: Angels, Demons, Vampires, Werewolves, Witches'

It wasn't impossible for these creatures to exist, after all Copia himself worked with Ghouls. So, on another search he went to see what he could find in the pages of the other books.

"It may take me a lot longer than I thought to go through these..." he sighed as he saw the small pile of books he had found from the same author of the book on ghouls.

"Rain! Wake the fuck up!" An angry Dew yelled from the other side of the door. "If I have to come in there, I swear to Lucifer and the rings of Hell that you will be condemned!"

Rain stirred at the noise that was been made, and he quickly opened the door. "Hey Dew, is everything okay?"

Dew's eye twitched in anger as he snarled at Rain, "Is everything okay my ass! I can smell her all over you! What the fuck did you do with her?"

Rain furrowed his brows for a moment, before he remembered that Jasper had helped him fall asleep. He then remembered that Dew had also had a crush on the woman and he didn't like the fact Rain had been in such close proximity to her.

"Oh- she was worried about me, so she came and made sure I was okay." Rain said sheepishly to Dew, hoping a fight wouldn't break out.

Swiss had at this point entered the corridor and could see the tension that was slowly getting stronger. "Oh shit- Aether, come here!"

Without another word, Dew launched himself over to Rain, ready to punch him square in the face. "Oh shit..." was all anyone could say as Aether stood in the way and took the punch instead.

"Dew. My room. Now." Was all that was heard before Aether turned to Rain and told him it was best he went to rest.

Aether decided to try and calmly approach the situation with Dew, so that there wouldn't be another dead human situation, the ghouls didn't wish to be sent back to Hell and they certainly didn't want the reputation that they were killers, like the last lot of ghouls were.

"Dew, care to explain what the hell that was about?" Aether asked, placing his fingers to his temples and sighing. He was trying not to snap at the small in front of him, "I expect a reasonable explanation."

The shorter ghoul huffed and his tail swished, "Rain knows I like Jasper. Our resident messenger..."

"And?" Aether replied, trying to get to the bottom of it all.

"She's a human, and it's wrong for us to like her. I spoke to Cardinal and Terzo and they both suggested to just treat her like a ghoul. But Rain knows the pact, that we don't flirt with another ghouls crush!" Dew almost hissed as he spoke, his words full of anger and frustration.

Aether understood in that moment why he was so upset. However, there was a moment of silence as Aether rethought the pact the ghouls had made. "Unless, Jasper is Rain's mate. That would mean you have no right to be angry. But we wouldn't know if Jasper is his mate, because she's human."

Slowly, Dew calmed down and realised none of them would know if Jasper had a mate. It would only be shown if she was a ghoul, as it would be an immediate pull. Bringing his hand to his forehead, he started to speak again, "So let's hit the library, find out what we can about humans and ghouls being mates."

"Alright. Let's do it..."
