The sea looked calm, pure blue invading everything Yeosang could see from the ship. The tranquility of the ocean used to relax him back in Ethia, the nights he escaped running to the beach were some of his warmest memories. But it was different that time. Yeosang felt the coldness of the ocean as it swallowed the lives of many, one of them their crewmate. Among all the monsters that reigned in the world, the sea was probably their most powerful enemy.

That was probably why the gods of the sea were feared, considered the evil side of the coin. One of them stood the most for Yeosang: The Storm. He was the symbol of death for the sailors and the pirates, the storm could easily destroy ships, swallow entire crews and leave no trail of their stories.

That was the worst part. If the ocean killed you, no one would know where or how to find you.

He kept staring at the horizon as the crew waited for the captain in absolute silence, but then the silence disappeared. At some point the sound of the waves turned into a song in Yeosang's ears. It was a distant melody, probably product of his imagination. There was no one singing there, after all.

But he felt it there, far away but constant.

It was... the voice of a woman. It felt familiar, actually. What if he listened a bit closer?

So he did. Without even noticing, Yeosang moved closer and closer to the voice until something held him back. It was then when something clicked inside his head and the prince looked down, only to see the wild water under him. Not the wooden deck.

His body was completely inclined towards the sea, the boy would be feeding the fishes if Wooyoung didn't react in time to hold him by his clothes.

Why was it always Wooyoung?

"What are you doing?" His voice was calm and cold, not a single syllable too loud.

Yeosang didn't have an answer, actually. Just one pull from the boatswain was enough to bring him to safe place, and he couldn't help but sit on the floor. Why did he do that? How didn't he notice earlier?

"I..." He started to mutter, unable to find the adequate words.

"We had enough for today, don't throw yourself to die too." Wooyoung said before Yeo could properly speak.

The prince would usually argue with Wooyoung lecturing him, but he was right. Yeosang directed his gaze to the water once more, trying to remember what just happened.

For some reason, the melody that almost threw him into the sea vanished from his mind.

But the distant unrecognizable voice somehow still felt familiar.

No, it was not the time. Yeosang shaked his head and started to move towards the rest of the crew, finding himself a space to sit next to San. The church boy was the most silent one among them, probably trying to assimilate what happened. Everyone was doing exactly that, each member in their own way.

Even Yeosang when he stared at the sea and almost threw himself on it.

Just like the few words pronounced by Wooyoung didn't exist at all, Ateez went silent again. What were they even supposed to say? Was there a correct choice? Yeo didn't think so. Luckily for him, he was astonishly good at remaining silent.

However, there was someone who didn't feel the same way. Jongho was having a hard time, really. He was fine dealing with tragedies himself, and couldn't help but keep thinking about what to do. The blacksmith thoughts only went faster when he saw Yeosang almost falling into the sea, questioning if the other hit his head too hard and was somehow hallucinating. He didn't seem the king of guy top give up that fast.
