In the first lunar century there was a constant war between the factions of Lunaria: humans, vampires, werewolves, elves and dwarves. All in a raging war for territory and prosperity. Fearing the total destruction of Lunaria the factions came together to sign a treaty. One that ensured that none of them would interfere with each other nor enter another's lands without prior approval from the faction's leader.

They were to be concerned with only the doings within their own borders and were not to intervene with any of the neighboring factions' lands, nor the disputes amongst the different lords within these lands. Any and all business conducted outside of the faction borders would have to be approved by its leader.

Each faction had their own set rules that they had to follow. In short, werewolves and vampires were not allowed to turn humans; dwarves were not allowed to chop wood close to the elf’s territory and, in turn, elves would not mine in the territory of the dwarves.

And so; each faction agreed to their part in the writing of the treaty. Breaking the rules of the treaty would result in total war upon the those who broke the peace treaty. After days of debating the faction leaders signed the treaty with their commanders as witnesses to the signing and the agreement of peace. Little did they know that not all among them agreed with the treaty, and would one day set into motion events that would go down in history as the darkest days of Lunaria.
