Edie's heart ached as she reflected on her feelings for Lando. Love had always been a powerful force in her life, and she couldn't help but pour her heart and soul into her relationships. She had a tendency to see the potential in people, hoping to help them overcome their flaws and find happiness.
With Lando, it was no different. She saw something special in him, a spark that ignited her desire to heal and nurture. She believed that her love could make a difference, that she could be the one to mend the broken pieces within him.
But now, as she confronted the reality of the situation, she couldn't deny the pain and disappointment that accompanied it. Loving with her whole heart had left her vulnerable, and it seemed that Lando wasn't able to reciprocate her feelings in the same way.
As much as she wanted to fix him, Edie realized that it wasn't her responsibility to do so. She understood that people had their own journeys to navigate, their own battles to fight. It was important for her to recognize her own worth and value, independent of her ability to fix or change others.
Edie waited until Charles was asleep to leave. Her feet had a mind of their own when leading her places. She watched as the familiar buildings passed by... casting shadows on everything the light could reach. As Edie stood on the steps of the rooftop, her heart pounding with a mixture of anticipation and apprehension, she heard voices drifting through the night air. They were distant, yet distinct enough for her to catch snippets of conversation. Intrigued, she followed the sound, allowing her curiosity to guide her.
Step by step, she made her way toward the source of the voices, her mind racing with questions. Who could be up there at this hour? What were they discussing? And most importantly, why did it feel like fate had led her here once again?
As Edie reached the rooftop, she saw a group of people standing near the edge, engaged in an animated discussion. Their voices mingled, carrying snippets of their conversations to her ears. She strained to listen, her senses heightened in the stillness of the night.
