I opened my eyes and found myself locked in a room. I didn't remember how I got there or what happened to me. I just had a feeling that I was sleeping from a long time. Maybe days, months or even years passed. My thoughts were perplexed. I began inspecting the place by running my eyes all around the room.

The room wasn't big enough so it was easy for me to figure out everything. Right in front of me there were a cctv camera and just beneath the camera I spotted a door. The part of me knew that the door might be locked still I went to open the door and, yeah, it was locked. I looked around, the surroundings were dark and dusty having cobwebs near the corners of the wall. The wall paint were chipped. There were only a broken table, a fan, a dim light and a wooden bed with an old bedsheet and the pillow without any cover.

My memories were dizzy but I could hear some voices ~she is Nevaeh and Adrian's daughter just kill her as well, No leave it killing her isn't an option we will get into trouble~ my past memories were traumatizing me. The voices was slowly increasing and causing headache. The moment I could no longer handle those loud voices, I screamed all my pain out, "just shutup........"

Finally everything was silent and those voices stopped. I again got back to my work. The only question stucked in my mind, what was that place? While inspecting I came across an old journal lying near the corner of the room. ~Nevaeh~ it's mom's journal. As soon as I began reading the journal, someone opened the door.

"Ava, you woke up?"

A familiar voice but I couldn't remember where I heard it. I turned and saw my aunt and some police officers standing in front of me.

"Aunt Cora," I said.

She nodded and asked me to follow her. I did as she said. I figured out that I was sleeping in the store room near the basement. I walked up to the stairs following her.

"Get ready today is your wedding," she said.

"Wedding? With whom?" I asked.

"With your bestfriend Zane," she said.

"No way I'm gonna marry him I already told you, I love Max," I said in a cold voice.

"Max is not a human being why are you not understanding he isn't any living being," she said.

"After torturing me for years, you suddenly developed a soft corner for me? You started caring about me? Just stop all these stupidity and let me go." I impudently said.

"Aunt Cora can I have a little talk with Ava if you don't mind?" Zane came in.

Aunt nodded and went out, leaving us alone.

"Ava if you don't wanna marry me it's fine but just come with me accept this marriage as an opportunity for you to get out of this place. I promise I would never force you to live with me you can live on your own and do whatever you want just let me stay somewhere near your place so that I would take care of you and yeah you won't be having any trouble because of me you can live with Max." Zane said politely.

I agreed to his proposal and we got married. After marriage he took me to his appartment where he used to live alone. His mother and father died in a car accident 2 years ago. He did as he promised I stayed in his room and he shifted to another room.

I was hovering near the table drumming my fingernails on the counter top while Zane was busy dusting his room. A cheerful smile came to my face as I heard the voice I craved for, "How have you been?"

"Max you finally came," tear rolled down and I hugged him tightly.

Ever since I was a child, Max was my only happy place. After the death of mom and dad, my custody was given to Aunt Cora. Anna, my twin sister the one whom I loved the most, gone missing I never saw her. Me and Anna were identical twins we fought, we cry, we laughed together. We both always used to argue and our mom invariably has to pour oil on troubled waters.
