Shadows were cast from a high window, and a woman stood at it, looking over her land. She sighed, tying her black hair with a lilac ribbon. The woman had eyes of gold, almost akin to molten in the whipping and whirling shadows. She sauntered back to her throne, plucking a cream-colored scroll from a bunch.
'Dear Queen Nerissa' It read. 'We come to you from the Kingdom of the Storms to request a peace treaty. As both a thank you for having Sir Dolion guard our son, and a desire to make sure we have no conflicts in the near future. It would be in both of our best interests to partner, and also as a backup incase the Kingdom of Fire decides to break our trust. We hope you visit soon, Queen Nerissa. Yours truly, Queen Levina and King Amias'
The Queen hummed gently, head lolling back against her Ebony and Blackstone throne. She drummed her perfectly manicured nails against the arms of the seating, lip caught between her teeth in contemplation.
Well, she already knew her answer. Having the wealthiest Kingdom as an ally was the greatest choice she could make, especially when they could fix her lands. Without a second Ruler at her side, it was hard enough to take care of her people. And bearing an heir was the most difficult part. But King Amias had always been the greatest matchmaker, and the King himself had said when they were kids that Nerissa would never need a partner to rule her Kingdom with her. And when it came to an heir, he promised that Maveth would bless her soon.
Nerissa huffed, whistling once and a sleek cat came to perch on her throne. It crawled onto her shoulders, winding around the Queen's neck. The Queen then spoke, sharp voice echoing across her throne room, making every soldier in her presence stand to attention.
"Prepare my chariot, I have a visit to make to the Kingdom of Storms. I want it done in 10 minutes, no more." Her tone was filled with authority only to be expected from the lone Queen, and it made her wards rush to attend to her request, or rather, her demand.
The Queen Nerissa, Ruler of the Kingdom of Death, was not a force to be reckoned with. Not only was she respected, she was equally feared. Whispers were heard that she was a Daughter of Maveth, being so that her father was unknown, but these rumors were built on lies. Whilst she was not his descendant, she was most definitely protected by the Death God himself on all bases. Not a single soul could question her authority without fearing for their mortal lives, which made sense. Foe a Queen is ruthless, especially when it comes to her Kingdom.

A carriage with dark mahogany was ready in 9 minutes and 59 seconds, yes Nerissa had been counting, and when she was called, she slipped from her throne room without a sound. Like a shadow.
She stalked down her winding castle to the ground floor, giving a nod to the woman who held the door open for her. The woman then stepped in after her Queen, closing the Carriage door. Emerald Green met Molten Gold, and both women broke into smiles.
"My Queen, it's been a while." The lady spoke, crossing her legs and keeping her chin high in confidence.
"It truly has been, hasn't it... My Goddess." The woman in her company, the woman with Emerald Green irises and flowing Brown locks, was none other than Vida; Goddess of Life, Light, Fortune and Wisdom. If Maveth wasn't here to greet the Queen and protect her, his eldest sister would pick up in his stead.
"So... Mr. Dolion? He's been sent to protect the Golden Child of the Storm Kingdom?" Despite her questioning and contemplative tone, her aura and presence held pure intensity. It was something the Goddess held heavy on her shoulders, a certain burden or weight that could not be shed.
"Indeed. And King Amias wants me to return, if even for a short visit." Queen Nerissa sighed, slumping into her seat. As much as she loved her childhood friend, he could be... a bit much. He was loud, eccentric and with seemingly never ending energy.
