Gloria
Today is my first day at a new high school after I had just moved from Louisiana to Florida. My ride or die, Lydia lived here. I met her after going to Florida for vacation. I was starting to text Lydia for advice at Sweet Hill High.
Me: hey!
Lydia<3: hey! Wsp?
Me: any advice at this high school? I'm nervous asf.
Lydia<3: ignore the bullies. You'll seem them later. And pay attention Gurl
Me: alr, ty.
Lydia: anytime! Gtg. Cya
Me: cyaa"Don't forget to take your medicine for your braces." Mom reminded me. I had completely forgotten about my braces by then. "Okay, bye mom, love you!" Me and my sister, Mariam headed out. "You ok, Mariam?" Mariam nodded, she doesn't talk much.
She has a disorder called bipolar. Which is very serious, so a para needs to stay with Mariam the whole time. She doesn't really seem interested in fun activities and barely needs sleep. As we walk to school, a mustang passes by then stops over to us.
"Hello?" Mariam asks. I'm surprised. Her mood just swung from extreme low to extreme high. Well, it's her bipolar. "Yo, want a ride in my mustang?" The weirdo asked. "No, I don't accept anything from strangers." I roll my eyes and walk away.
That's when Mariam's mood swung from extreme high to extreme low. We had just arrived at the school by then. We go in and find our lockers. "Bye, Mary." I hug Mariam, "be careful." Mariam nods, "ok, bye, sis." Mariam goes to locker 34B.
My locker is 45A, right next to Lydia's. I go to my locker and see Lydia talking to one of her friends, Mel Christina Garcia, I call her Mel or Mel Christina. "Hey, Lydia. Hi, Mel." They wave. Mel isn't really one of my friends but I talk to her a lot. I want to be friends with her though.
"Hey, Lydia?" Lydia turns over. "Yea?" She asks me. "Can you introduce me to Mel?" I ask shyly. Lydia starts to laugh. "You just said hi to her, you can." Lydia hugs me, "I believe in you." Although, I felt like I had no gift. Okay. "Mel?" I whisper.
Mel didn't hear me, so I speak up. "Mel?" I ask. Mel turns around, "yes, Gloria?" I blush pink, scared. "Lesbian?" She asks me. "No no, shyness. Do you want to be friends?" I become silent after that. "Yes. I would love that! I've been wanting to be your friend since Lydia talks about how cool you are!"
Mel jumps into a hug. "I can't breath." But I laugh at the same time. The bell rung. "Cya!" I wave to Mel and Lydia, and accidentally bump into the school Barbie. Unfortunately, she is with her boyfriend. "Watch it!" She rolls her eyes. Deffo, Barbie.
"Sorry, 'princess.'" I roll my eyes. "Don't mess with my Lacy!" The boyfriend spoke up. I was guessing his name was Kyle. "Kyle?" I ask. He looks angry. "How do you know my name, new girl?" I run to class fast, but they were dumb enough to not know I left.
