Ny'hara was sitting alone in the sand letting the warm waters of awa'atlu wash up to her waist.
She just wanted to be alone for a little while just like she was so used to growing up. She was the type of girl to love to watch the sun set just before eclipse.
Even if she was in a clan full of people she still felt alone at times. Sure she had Tsireya and Ao'nung growing up but it wasn't the same they couldn't relate to her.
They had both their biological parents, meanwhile Ny'hara didn't. Her mother nor father wanted her so they left her all alone right before birth. Yes both Tonowari and Ronal loved her as their own. But she truly wasn't their child.
She was so trapped in her repeating thoughts that she didn't hear someone coming to sit next to her.
"Hey..."
Ny'hara swiftly turned her head to look to the left of her. And of course it was Kiri.
"Hey." The metkayina girl said refusing to meet her eyes. Rather just choosing to look down at the sand beneath her striped hands.
"What's wrong ny'hara?" The sully girl sensed that something was wrong with Ny'. Kiri always sensed that from people. She just had so much empathy for the people around her. She always has and probably always will.
"Oh um nothing just enjoying the sunset i guess." She quietly responded she wasn't in the mood to talk about how she felt.
"You sure you seem a little tense"
Ny'hara couldn't help but feel slightly agitated by the repeating sense of question. But she calmed herself down knowing that the girl beside her hadn't done anything wrong. So there was no point in getting mad at her, she just wanted to know if she was okay.
Ny' decided to just change the subject before it progressed any further.
"Yeah i'm okay anyways how are your brothers after that fight? I saw lo'ak getting his ears pulled thought he might've got one ripped off you know."
She couldn't help but smile at the recollection of the youngest sully boy yelling out "My ear!" It was quite funny if Ny'hara was being honest.
Kiri cracked a small smile looking at Ny'hara's smile. "They are both okay, just got yelled at a little, the normal."
Kiri paused though, she forgot to thank the lighter girl beside her for sticking up for her.
"Oh yeah, thank you for sticking up for me, you really didn't have to." She blushed as she said these words.
"It was nothing i would do it a million times over if it was for you." Ny'hara couldn't help but spill out of her mouth.
Oh shit what did she just confess to. Yes it was the truth she would fight for Kiri a million times if she had to but Kiri didn't need to know that.
The darker girl blushed a purple color her heart racing at the thought of Ny'hara protecting her.
Suddenly getting pulled out of her thoughts ny'hara felt kiri pull her into a tight hug.
Since she's slightly taller than Kiri, the shortest girls face was stifled into her neck.
She decided to just take advantage of the moment and wrap her arms around Kiri and just hold her, leaning her head on her head. And just breathe in the scent of her.
Kiri smelt of fresh minty herbs, the sea, and a slight hint of fruit. She absolutely loved it and tightened her hold.
She could stay here forever if she has the chance to. She could and would follow the girl who stole her heart everywhere. Even if that meant going into dangerous situations.
