Youth town.

It was the day before halloween.

A boy that goes by the name, Charles who is about the age of 14. Charles has brown hair and brown eyes. He has a friend group that wasn't much of a popular gang but it was well known.

He has a younger sister named Sally. Sally has brown hair and brown eyes as well. Her hair style is wavy. He is the oldest. Sally was 10 years old. His parents were planning a halloween party at his house. Inviting most of the neighborhood civilians.

Little does his family know. Their life was about to change.

Charles is in his kitchen getting a quick snack.

He was setting up a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

The sunlight was beaming through the windows of the kitchen and the living room. It was afternoon.

"Hey charles!" Called his mom across the living room.

He takes the knife out of his mouth and places it on the counter table.

"Yeah?" He called out.

His mother walked into the kitchen with a purse and a dress.

So did his father. With a suit and a long tie.

"Your father and I are off to dance at a party!" His mother announced.

His father adjusted his tie.

"Be sure to-"

"Decorate the house, yeah, yeah, I get it." Charles assured his father.

"Smart!" His father said.

"We'll be home no later than 4:00 am." His father said.

Charles dropped his sandwich onto his plate.

"No later than 4:00 am?" He questioned.

"Dad, that's like, going to be hard for me to do all of this by myself!"

His father chuckled.

"That's why you got your younger sister, Sally!" He winked.

"Isn't that right Sally?"

Charles turned to Sally who was laying on the couch.

"Huh? Wha?" She questioned suddenly waking up.

"Sally, you're going to be helping your dear old brother decorate the house for the annual halloween party!" His father exclaimed, patting Charles on the back.

"Oh no, no no no." Charles quickly spoke. Pushing his fathers hands away gently, from his shoulders.

"She's going to make it less scary and boring! Plus, she's short as if she was a double A battery!" Charles complained.

His father and mother narrowed their eyes on Charles.

"Can't I just invite my friends and decorate the house, finally scary?"

"No." They both answered.

"Then what's the whole point of Halloween if it ain't gonna be scary!?"

"It's about fun and how people look in their costumes!"

Charles groaned and waddled to the living room.

Sally looked from the couch.

"Drama." She rolled her eyes.

The father sighed and rubbed his eyes.
