This summer is going to a dread. I can already tell by the business around the house of trying to get summer workbooks out and ready. That means another summer of sitting at a desk and learning by our annoying tutor, Bea.

And after this years of being more off task than usual, especially in violin, mom will probably let me hang out with friends twice this whole summer! (I'm guessing..)

So since it is the last day of school, I am not looking forward to it. In the morning I put on my uniform and and slowly brush my teeth. I do the regular routine, then leave with a kiss from mom, (dad was already at work).

As I was walking out, I hear our butler, Chris, holler, "Want me to ride you to school in the limo? Or do you want to drive your own car?" Normally, the limo would have been my choice because we only sometimes go in it, but today I wanted some time to myself, so I stuck with my car. When I got to the garage, I hopped into my Ferrari convertible, (my parents got me it when I got my license) and took off. I rolled down the hood in the 90 degree weather, and blasted the music so loud, I didn't have to hear the world around me. It felt amazing. I drove off fast not letting anything stop me in the empty California roads. I almost forgot about this summer, until I reached school.

Everyone rushed into the building, happy for it to be over so they will be free in the summer, but for me, this is the last chance of freedom before break.

As I walk in, Jessica, my best friend since kindergarten, immediately popped up behind me with a bright, yet considerate smile. ""How you feeling" she said in a soft voice, knowing that I am dreading summer.

"Could be better" I say.

"Hey, you'll be fine. I'm sure you'll have at least some freedom."

I give Jessica a questioning look, and we keep on walking to our home base.

"You look nice today" I say, changing the topic. Her normally straight hair was now curled in many different pieces.

"Thanks! And you" I give her a funny look.

"I just did the same thing I did everyday, nothing!" I chuckle.

"But you're gorgeous, you don't have to. Your beach waves are to die for." Jessica says this all of the time about me, and I have to admit, for me having a lot of flaws at home, I am pretty. I have brown hair with natural blond highlights, and beach waves. 'Long eyelashes and perfect eyebrows' are another thing Jessica says is to die for about me. But I don't see anything there.

We finally reach class, and as soon as we walk in, Brandon Lokington gives me a flirty stare.

"Hey Marly, you look nice" he says. He has had a thing for me since freshman year, and I don't know why I don't like him, because he is smokin' hot. All of the girls want him.

"Thanks!" I say, and I turn around, but I can tell he is still staring at me.

"What do you want," I turn around and ask in a playful way with a laugh.

"We should totally hang-out this summer" he says, batting his eyes.

"I wish, but my parents are probably trapping me in this whole summer."

He gives me a 'darn' type of look and I turn around.

Jessica gives me a wink and I do to.

Then after the teacher took attendence, we all got up and shot out the door, preparing ourselves for the math exam for today.

Since the room I take exams in was in the opposite side of the high school as my home base is, I walk quickly, not getting distracted by anything. Just as I think I was really late, I hit my head on somebody and we both fall down with a loud CUPLUNK!

As I am on my butt and rubbing my head, I look up and see who I ran into. It was June Lough, the most adventurous and fun girl in school. She was always up to go do something epic, and you always heard about her recent adventures she has been on.

Although, I barely knew June, I've just heard and seen her around. And I'm sure it was the same for her with me.

As she is doing the same as I am, rubbing my head and sitting on the ground, we both realized what was going on.

"I'm so sorry!" she says before I do. "I was in a rush for class and I was dozing off, I hope you're okay!" She looks partially sorry, but mostly sorry for herself for some reason. Her eyes seemed crusty like she had just been crying.

"I'm fine and it's ok, it was my fault." I say sympathetically. And with that we both help each other up, say sorry one more time, and head off our own ways.

As we walked away, I felt so bad for her for no reason. June just seemed so upset and sorry, and I have no clue why.

We had quick contact with each other, yet I couldn't stop thinking about her sad look on her face. How weird am I.
