The last tone of the day sounded and teenagers filed out of the school, so urgent to leave, that it looked like there could be a fire. Two older boys moved slower than the rest, a blue eyed blondie and a redhead with hazy eyes.

"Alexi, mind if I hang onto your backpack?" Cody asked the blonde with a casual tone.

The other answered with a small smile. "Cody, you don't have to ask every day, but yes, you can." Cody reached out towards Alexi, softly patting at the backpack until he found the top handle. The boys walked out of the brick made school and started down the the sidewalk.

Every now and then, Alexi would warn Cody of a bump or crack in the cement, by the reason that Cody was blind. Being blind since birth allows you to adjust, but it is nice to have some help along the way.

Alexi on the other hand was a musician, violinist to be exact. Almost every day he would practice with Cody as an audience. He helped pick out sharp notes and such. These two always stuck together, best friends since the first days.

"Hey Alexi, I have a question." Cody voice was soft and sort of shy.

"Yeah?"

"Um, I was wondering if you would be willing to describe the colors to me."

There was a pause before Alexi replied, "The colors?"

"Yes, but you don't ha-"

"No no" Alexi interrupted him, "I'll be happy to. Just let me think for a bit, 'kay?"

A smile made its way to Cody's face, "Okay"

Alexi waited on the porch, softly tapping his foot to an unheard beat. Mrs. Maverick wished the boys a good day after helping her son to the door. "Will do Mom" the redhead called back as he got a hold of Alexi's backpack.

"Cody" Alexi started to unfold a piece of paper as he spoke, "I have some colors for you."

"Already? Didn't have to do it right away."

"I had fun, it's alright. Let's start with red. Red is in your face, attention grabbing, lust, danger, and love." He walked slower as he read off of the paper. "Green. Green is leafy, spring like, nature, and greed. Mostly because it's the color of money.

"Let's see, next is grey. Grey is like rain on asphalt. Cold and hard like metal too. Brown is more of a dark yucky color, muddy and earthy. The color of the sun is yellow. It's warmth, cheerful and happy; more of a carefree sort of color.

"Now we have blue, which is the color of the sky, most of the time. Blue is a cool, calming color. Then there is purple. A mysterious yet comforting color. It has a deep, but soft tone. Next is black. This color is a darkness that you could get lost in, a morbid abyss. Considered a deathly color.

"Lastly, we have the opposite of black, which is white. White is like an empty room, or a blank canvas, waiting for something to come and disturb the peace of it. Uh, yeah, those are some colors I have." He shoved the paper back into his pocket.

"Hope it helped." Alexi turned to look back at his friend, who had a huge smile plastered on his face.

"Thank you, Alexi." Cody knew there was no way to truly pay him back for what he did. "Thank you."

Alexi smiled at him even though Cody couldn't see it, "You're welcome. Now, we should hurry. You know how Mrs. Anderson gets if someone is late."
