I darted down the hall, lifting the edges of the light-orange dress I'd selected in a rush. "Where are you going to in such a hurry?" I turned to glare at the person to whom the voice belonged to, slowing down.

"It's none of your business."

"Father summoned you, huh?" Eris, my twin brother glanced at a clock. "I already know. You better hurry - he summoned you 7 minutes ago."

I gulped and ran down to the entrance of the throne room. My father, Beron, High Lord (which really doesn't help lessen his ego) of the Autumn Court, sat on his throne awaiting my arrival. "You're late." "With all due respect my Lord, you summoned me while I was in the shower." It was true. My hair was still wet to prove it. "Doesn't matter. Now, I have called you for a particular and classified reason - you will become an assassin for the Autumn Court." "M-me?" At that point, I realized we were the only two people in the room. "Yes, you. You'd be the least obvious choice. Your training begins tomorrow. Do not tell anyone. Understand?"

"Yes, Father. But why?"

"Because a war is approaching."
