The cats were in a forest fire/flood whichever, and were scattered and fled in fear, little clumps of the once was clan headed off in different directions and your group(the one which you play as) consists of a once was warrior, maybe his sibling/close friend, and optionally one more cat but you have to take all of the apprentices and kittens. As the small group flees from the surging water, or raging flames, they take charge and herd the young kits and apprentices to safety, far away into unknown lands. Their home, gone, clan forsaken, the cats are ready to give up hope. Some say they are doomed and cannot move on, others don't know if their a clan anymore. When the question arises maybe they should name themselves FallenClan for they have fell ever so far, but the warrior who protected them and defied death declares them EchoClan. For they are the Echoes of the lost, the last remaining of once was. Over time if loners join the clan, if their status info says they were a former deputy,medicine cat,etc. You might choose to say they were a lost member of their past clan.The warrior that you choose to lead them from death becomes leader.
Now that the small clan has settled into an area that they could possibly call home, they must survive unfamiliar lands and grow the clan so that maybe they'll survive. Over time with what the game throws at you, you can form prophecies and/or plots ig.
I thought this was a fun story idea and even sometimes call it FlickerClan, as in the last remaining flickers of light in the dark but your choice! :) Hope this helps, also if you've come across any cool ones so far let me know!
