Ivy sighed as she quickly glanced back at her and Trent's texts. They had been together the past 4 years, and forgetting plans had become a regular occurrence for the footballer. She was never angry with him though, too worried of what his reaction would be. He wasn't a cruel man, but he wasn't a kind one either. He had never made an effort to make her happy, always prioritizing himself. Yet Ivy still loved him, so she sat there quietly holding onto whatever parts of him she still had.
She wanted to stay up for him, to welcome him into their home and kiss him goodnight, but she knew it was pointless. He wouldn't be back anytime soon, and when he did arrive he wouldn't want anything to do with her, likely using 'trainings in the morning' as an excuse for his lack of affection. But she was used to this routine, so she let it be as she slowly drifted to sleep in their bed, shivering from the loss of his touch.
