Sanemi's pov

2 months

It has been a period of two months since Giyuu's whereabouts became unknown.

"Shinazugawa-san, are you okay? You've been so quiet since Tomioka-san went missing," Kanroji inquired.

"Ara ara! Are you concerned about Tomioka-san, Shinazugawa? I'm here to let you know that you have a mission to find Tomioka-san tonight," said Kocho in response to both me and Kanroji.

I have another opportunity to find him. Just one more chance!

A period of time has passed, which may or may not be attributed to Giyuu's emotional struggles.

While taking a stroll through the woods, my ears were suddenly met with a rustling sound emanating from a nearby bush. Intrigued, I slowly approached the source of the noise, only to come face-to-face with a demon lurking within. Without a moment's hesitation, I instinctively leaped backward and unsheathed my trusty sword, ready to defend myself against any potential threat.

I shouted at the demon, "Reveal yourself, evil demon!"

As soon as the demon appeared, I dropped my sword. To my surprise, it turned out to be Giyuu, the former water pillar. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that he seemed frightened and disoriented.

"Tomioka?!" I exclaimed.

As I approached him, he suddenly jumped back in surprise. I couldn't help but wonder why he didn't try to attack me. Curiosity getting the best of me, I took a step closer and noticed his panicked reaction.

"Hey Tomioka, it's Sanemi. You're safe with me," I assured him, hoping to ease his anxiety.

"Shinazugawa-san?" he asked, appearing to have regained his composure.

As he approached me, I attempted to step back, but it was futile. To my surprise, the man I'd been infatuated with for quite some time pulled me into a warm embrace. I couldn't help but feel a blush creeping up my cheeks. Unfortunately, the embrace was brief, and I couldn't help but wish it lasted longer. However, since he didn't seem to have any ill intentions, I decided to invite him to join the corps.

I asked Tomioka if they would like to accompany me back to the corps, using a polite tone.

He said with even more tears in his eyes "I can't go back, they would never accept me." The sight of his blue ocean eyes filling up with tears is heart-wrenching.

"It's okay, don't worry. If they accepted the demon child, they will surely accept you too," I spoke in a calming tone, trying not to frighten him. At that moment, I began to wonder if Tokito's judgment of him was accurate. He had seemed like a mere decoration before, but now he was displaying a surge of emotions that left me uncertain about what to believe.

This time skip was inspired by Sanemi's anger problems.

We arrived at Master's place just before sunrise. Master informed all the Hashiras about a meeting tomorrow to discuss Giyuu's whereabouts. Giyuu was instructed to stay with me for the night until Master Ubuyashiki is certain that he poses no threat.
