First Day

As I sit, zoning out all the noise, I begin to wonder will this be any better for me. Being in a classroom sucks, you have loud kids screaming and jumping over tables (literally) and you also have an old teacher yelling at them to stop. These kids are uncontrollable. I don't know any of them because it's my first day at this school, but I can already tell none of these kids seem good to hang out with.

I hear the bell ring so I sit up collect all my books and head out. I was walking through the door and the teacher decided to stop me. "How is your first day so far?" he asked. At this moment, my hair is messed up from putting my head down for an hour on the desk, I'm pretty sure I have a read mark on my face from my arm and my vision is still blurred from being half asleep during the whole class. I smiled and said "Not what I expected," and left.

When you walk down school hallways, you see every person from every grade level there is. I'm just in ninth grade and I'm small compared to all of the others. At my old school, the only two races there was white and african american, but here there is every race you can think of. It's not a big school, or a small school. Everyone knows each other so they all talk, and that means they all know I'm the new girl.

I walk silently around the hall to go outside to get to my mom's car. A short girl about my height with brown hair just like mine came up to me. I wasn't in such a good mood but I didn't have any friends either.

"Hey, my name is Jenn," she said excitedly but yet you could tell she was tired. "Or Jennifer, but I go by Jenn," she said to me. I was so tired I wasn't focusing on her words, I guess you can say staying up late isn't that great of an idea.

"I'm Serena," I said to continue the conversation. A little bit later she told me she had science class with me and we walked down the hall together.

It's good to make friends. They occupy time for you when you're bored, and even better they're always there for you. I was proud of myself that I made one.

We opened the door to go outside. Mainly all of the halls were blue and white, because that was the school's colors, but I don't think they go together. I saw my mom and told her I had to go. I got in my mom's car and she immediately asked "How was your first day?" I just she the usual "It was alright." I was just ready to get home.
