I shot up out of bed screaming. "Clara it's ok your safe" I heard voice. I turned and looked to see Carrie sitting on my bed. "Carrie" I croaked out. "No clara it's me Carolyn" she said. "Oh" I said looking down. "Im Clara you mind dropping the bed" she said. I looked down and saw the bed hovering in the air with both of us on it. I put us down "sorry please don't tell" I begged her. "Hey I'm not going to tell anyone Clara I promise I have secret of my own" she said. I nodded still shaking from my dream. "Clara what were you dreaming about" she asked. "The past" i said. "Was it about Carrie" she asked. I nodded "kinda I really don't want to talk about it" I said. "Who's tommy though" she asked. I looked up at her "you said his name in his sleep" she said. "He was a friend of mine and carrie's" I said. "Did he die to" she asked. I nodded "ya" I said.

"Clara I know we just met but i don't have many friends here so would you want to be friends with me" she asked. "I've never really had friends before besides Carrie, sue and tommy but he was more friends with Carrie than me" I said. "Well then I guess I'll be your first real friend" she said. "I guess so" I said. She hopped over my legs and got in beside me "what are you doing" I asked. "Friends have sleep overs so we're having one" she said. She laid down facing me and waited for me to lay. I laid back and faced her. That's how we ended up falling asleep both of us facing each other. I woke up to her shaking me awake. "Clara com eon breakfast" she said. I got up and followed her down stairs. I sat next to her again as Barnabas sat at the end of the table. "Clara were you ok last night I heard a scream from your room" Barnabas asked me. "I'm fine mr Collins I just had a nightmare last night. Carolyn came in and checked on me" I said.

"That's was nice of you carolyn" ms Collins said. Carolyn glared at her mother like I used to. "Don't acted so surprised mother" she said. Ms Collins sighed "I didn't mean anything by it" she said. "Whatever" she said rolling her eyes. I tended when she did so afraid of what ms Collins would do. Ms Collins did nothing she just sat here looking sad. When I rolled my eyes at mother I got ten lashes with a belt and a whole day in the pray closet. "Clara you in there" I heard Carolyn said. I turned to her "Im fine carolyn" I said eating. "So Clara I figured that you should finish school since your only 16" ms Collins said. I nodded taking a drink of orange juice. "Of course ms Collins" I said. "You'll ride with David and i" caroline said. I turned to her "ok" I said. "You don't say much do you" David's father asked. Carolyn glared at him "shut up Rodger who cares if she doesnt" she spat out. Rodger just glared at her and went back to eating. I saw David standing in the doorway with a bed sheet over him. I tried not to laugh but failed which caused everyone to look at me. I blushed "sorry David took me by surprise" I said.

David flipped the sheet off "I scared you" he cheered. "Oh yes I was terrified" I said laughing. He smirked but stopped when his father spoke. "David quite joking around and get over here" he said. David's head fell slightly and he walked over to the table looking very upset. A women with bright orange hair and a glass of brandy walked in. "Who's this" she asked looking at me. "This is Clara she will be working for me and Barnabas" ms Collins said. "Oh I'm Julia, David's therapist" she said. I looked at her confused "why does David have a therapist" I asked ms Collins. "They'd think I'm crazy" David mumbled. I looked over at him "David says he can see his mothers spirit" ms Collins said. "And he has a doctor to try and fix him. Isn't it normal for kids his age to have imaginary friends" I said. Rodger slammed his hands down "I will not have a crazy son" he snapped. "Your son isn't crazy he acts just like any normal boy his age. Ever think that maybe he's grieving for his mother" I snapped back the went to my room.
