I stared at the bright lights of the city as I felt a slight gust of wind blow through my hair. The colors blended together, almost ethereal in nature. It was beautiful, and it would be the last thing I saw before I died.
I stepped closer to the edge of the 70 foot tall building, before hesitation. This is what I want. This is what I deserve. So why was I... scared? One more step. I kept repeating it in my mind, maybe if it bounced around in my head enough I would gain enough courage to do it.
"I'm going to do it." I mumbled.
Nobody heard me.Aizawa's POV
I felt the wind pushing my hair back as I jumped from building to building. I had only 15 minutes left of patrol before Midnight would take over. It was a Wednesday night, early winter.
Ironically, the least amount of criminal activity occurred at night, part of why I was the only one put on patrol.
Suddenly I spotted a dark figure standing on the edge of a building. I squinted, moving a bit faster. There weren't a lot of reasons why somebody would be on a rooftop at night,
especially on the edge. I felt my stomach sink a bit as I realized what was about to happen. They were going to jump.I rushed to the rooftop of that building and flung my capture scarf around the figure, careful not to squeeze them. They struggled a bit as I pulled them further away from the edge. As I pulled them closer to me, the realization hit. This wasn't just a stranger. It was Dabi.
"You're... Dabi, right?" I asked cautiously. I looked into his eyes and activated my quirk, just as a precaution.
He nodded and looked down, as if he was embarrassed."What were you doing on the edge of a roof...? And alone too.." I asked.
"I was.. Ugh, why should I have to explain myself to you, hero?" He asked, seething.
"Because if you don't, I'll turn you in." I threatened. If he was attempting to do what I think he was, then he would probably need to have psychiatric help when turned in to the police.
"I was.. just looking. I wasn't going to do anything. So just... don't turn me in. I will make your life a living hell." He squirmed around attempting to break free from the scarf.
"I'm just going to be direct when I ask this. Were you trying to... jump from here..?" His eyes widened a bit before looking down.
"What does it matter..?" He seemed quieter. Less angry, more... tired.
"I know you don't know me, or trust me. But you can tell me, you don't have to say why, or anything else. I just want to help you." My tone softened a bit as an attempt to make him more comfortable.
"...I was."
