The Girl In Black– Jessica Rycak

She is the girl that sits on the side

That goes home and finds a place to hide

Comes to school in the same black clothes as yesterday

Because she has nothing else to wear

In between classes, she walks through the corridor

Silently praying they’ll tease her no more

As for the ones that just stand there and watch

No better are they than those who abuse

If only they knew the burden on her back

Maybe they would think twice before they attack

When the school bell rings it’s just another alarm

More pain awaits, no safe haven at home

“No way out” she feels, except ending her life

She gently caresses the blade of the knife

One last time she closes the bathroom door

Her decision is made, there is no turning back

Now she is in a better place

Where everyone is happy to see her face

Where her smile has a true meaning

Beneath the black, she glows white

and her purity is a breathtaking sight
