Chapter 7

We arrive at the lodge with the wheelbarrel and nick sitting inside it.

Ryan pushed the wheelbarrel and it almost topples over

"Easy!" I say to Ryan.

"I got it... he's okay." Ryan says

I kneel down to Nick.

"Are you in pain?" I ask

"Nah.. Nah, sorry, I'm just... I'm really hungry." He smiles slightly

I smile back "we'll get you some food inside, okay?"

"Yeah, okay." He nods

I help him stand up

"Oh man... I could eat a horse." He says

I chuckle "well. I don't really know id we'll be able to find you a horse, but maybe some granola."

"Ugh... Yuck, I hate granola." Nick scrunched his nose up as me and abi help him inside

We open the door and walk inside

"This'll open the nurse's station. Should be plenty of stuff in there." Ryan hands Kaitlin the keys

"Well hopefully we can just get him cleaned up for now." Kaitlin takes the keys

I let abi and Kaitlin take nick to the nurse's station

"I'll get nick something to eat." I walk towards the kitchen

Abi looks back at me I nod saying it's okay

I walk into the kitchen and begin looking around in the drawers and the fridge only to find nothing i grab a mug from the counter and fill it up with some water I sigh and walk back to the nurse's station.

"Hey... I couldn't find anything to eat. Kitchen's pretty cleaned out. But I brought you some water." I smile slightly and put the mug on the coffee table beside nick.

"That was... Fuck, I don't even know what happened, it was all just a blur." Nick spoke.

"How are you feeling?" I ask him

"I'm okay. I'll be okay. Thanks to you." He smiles slightly

I smile back.

"No... not really me. It was abi." I smiled at the thought of abi.

"You're here with me. That helps." Nick spoke softly

I blushed and smiled slightly.

The door opens and Kaitlin and abi come walking in

"Alright, they're off to find a radio or something." Kaitlin says holding a shotgun.

"What's with the gun?" I ask

"Oh- uh- they found another in Mr. H's office. So. Just in case." Kaitlin says.

"Uh, what happened to the lights?" I ask

"We're not sure." Kaitlin speaks for herself and abi

"Any better?" Kaitlin asks Nick

"I'm doing okay... Kinda..." Nick says

"Wait, are they going to the radio hut?" I ask

"Phone's dead, they're gonna try to send out an SOS or something. We're holding down the fort." Kaitlin explains

Suddenly we hear footsteps above us on the second floor and we all look up.

"I thought you said Dylan and Ryan already left?" I whisper

"Stay here. I'll check it out." Kaitlin says

"We'll be fine. Just... be careful." Nick says

"Stay alert." Kaitlin walks out of the room closing the door quietly behind her.

Abi walks over to the other side of the room to look for stuff.

Nick looks at Y/n.
