Lynn's point of view
Lynn's basketball team was down by 10 points with only five minutes left in the game. Lynn was playing her heart out, but it seemed like no matter what she did, the other team always had an answer. She could feel the sweat dripping down her forehead, her legs felt heavy, and her breathing was labored. Her teammates were also struggling, and the crowd was getting restless.
Lynn looked over at her coach, who was shouting instructions from the sidelines. She could tell he was getting frustrated, and she knew that if they didn't turn things around soon, they were going to lose the game.
The other team called a timeout, and Lynn and her teammates gathered around their coach. "Okay, guys," he said, his voice stern. "We've got five minutes left, and we're down by 10 points. We can still win this, but we need to focus. Lynn and margo, I need you to keep driving to the basket. They can't stop you. And the rest of you, I need you to play tight defense. We can't let them score any more points."
Lynn nodded, feeling determined. She knew that her coach was right. They still had a chance to win this game, but they needed to give it everything they had.
The buzzer sounded, and the two teams took their positions on the court. Lynn took a deep breath and got ready to play. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest as the ball was thrown up for the tip-off. She jumped as high as she could, trying to get the ball, but the other team got it first.
The rest of the game was a blur of movement and noise. Lynn and her teammates fought hard, but the other team seemed to be one step ahead at every turn. Lynn could feel her energy waning as the clock ticked down. She tried to push herself harder, but it was no use.
Finally, the buzzer sounded, and the game was over. Lynn and her teammates huddled together, feeling defeated. They had lost the game, and it was a bitter pill to swallow. They had worked so hard, but it just wasn't enough. As they walked off the court, Lynn felt a pang of disappointment. She had wanted to win so badly, but it seemed like it just wasn't meant to be.
Lynn slumped down onto the bench feeling annoyed she lost the game, she wins, she always wins, so why did she lose today. She felt a tap on her shoulder, she looked up and saw Roxanne, popular girl who's too nice and doesn't really talk to Lynn. I mean yeah they have eachothers insta's and sometimes like posts from eachother but they never had an actual conversation.
"You were great out there" she said smiling as she sat next to me "no I wasn't, if I was great I would have won, everyone knows I win, I don't lose" I looked at her furious at myself, how could I loose then the nicest person ever tell me I did great when clearly I didn't
"Well I thought, that even though you didn't win, you still put your heart into it" she spoke so calmly like I didn't just ruin everything for my team, how could she be so nice and calm.
I shook my head disagreeing with herShe laughed "okay I know what we're going to do to make you stop feeling sorry for yourself and make sure your next game you ...... Win?" I look at her in confusion "you, miss nice wants to help me?" She looked at me confused this time before speaking up "your not nice?"
Before I could respond, she grabbed me by my hand and dragged me out of the basketball court and all the way to an ice-cream shop. "Which flavour ma lady?" I looked at the options "chocolate" she looked at me and nodded before looking at the cashier "we will have one chocolate ice cream and one cookies and cream" the cashier nodded "that will be £4.50" Roxanne paid before I could stop her.
We walked around, eating our Ice-cream, talking and getting to know eachother better "we should hang out more often" she suggested "yh, we should, this has been fun, but my parents are probably worried, I should get home" she moved closer to me "why don't I walk you home?" She suggested and for the second time I agreed
"Well this is it, my house." I say pointing towards it. "Well I guess I should walk to my house now, we should totally hang out this weekend" she spoke "yh okay" I waved at her and she waved back.
