Ace ran his fingers through his thick black hair, a frown on his lips as he kicked his legs, sitting on the side of a large skyscraper. It had been a year since he'd been bitten by a radioactive spider and inherited its abilities.

He could stick to walls, shoot webs from his wrists, had enhanced strength, has a keen sense of danger and most of all, he could leap and upwards of 30 feet in the air, giving him powerful legs. He took on the title of Spiderman once he realized his powers.

He sighs to himself, laying back on the building as he waited for... well... anything to happen, the boy skipping his first college class of the day all because he sensed a little danger... But now, he felt silly.

Your friendly neighborhood Spiderman... is playing the waiting game. Until he felt it. His entire body tingled all over as he heard a loud crash followed by honking, then screaming. He hurriedly got up and leapt off the side of the building, shooting his webs out and swinging between cars towards the large pillar of smoke in the sky.

He felt his stomach drop as he got there, landing on his feet into a full sprint as he saw what appeared to be a villain. A tall man with a metal piece sticking from his back had used a sludge hammer to break a few car windshields and he was still going. He twitched and clicked between hits, the metal piece turning slowly before he stopped, looking at Ace with soulless eyes.

He twitched before pointing the sludge hammer towards Ace, flicking the cigarette he was holding to the side

He twitched before pointing the sludge hammer towards Ace, flicking the cigarette he was holding to the side. He jerked, then walked forward, his steps rythmatic.

"You. Spiderman. I knew this would draw you out-"

"So, what are you supposed to be exactly? Omg, can I call you a boytoy? I mean, with that winder thing on your back... You're basically a toy right?" Ace asked, having slowed his run to a full stop, especially with the villain coming towards him.

"I'm Marionette. I'm-"

"So you're like a puppet then? Who made you? Holy shit like, are you AI? Or were you a person?" Ace continued, the villain beginning to look irritated.

"Shut your god damn mouth for two seconds!" The puppet shouted, Ace smirking under his mask.

"Or what?"

"Or this, fuck head." Marionette lurched forward with alarming speed, slamming the sludge hammer into Ace's side and sending him to the side.

Ace felt pain shoot through his whole body as he went tumbling to the ground, the poor Spiderman coughing up blood and nearly vomiting from the intense pain... but he had to quickly recover, scampering back as Marionette walked forward, the sludge hammer dragging behind him.

"You ready to take this serious? You've never faced off against anyone like me before have you? I'm not some low level criminal." Marionette stopped, his previously expressionless face turning into a twisted grin. "I'm not some petty thief, Spiderman."

Ace felt a shiver go down his spine, his eyes darting back and forth as he tried desperately to get his bearings. He looked up at Marionette finally who was starting to lift his sludge hammer again.

"Spiderman! You've got to move..!" A voice called out, Ace looking over and seeing a familiar face. Gwen Stacy, a woman he went to college with. A woman he was fairly close with... what was she doing here?

"Yeah, Spiderman. Move." Marionette laughed, his sludge hammer lifting over his head before Ace quite literally kicked into action. He kicked against the ground sending himself up and back away. He landed against a car before he forced himself to his feet.

"Alright alright! Maybe I was a bit cheeky. Let's get serious." He stepped forward, wincing slightly before he looked towards Gwen. He cleared his throat and straightened his back. "It's not safe here! Please. Get home!" He said, putting on a bit of a voice in order to not get caught...

"Spiderman. Don't turn away from me!" Marionette shouted, now right beside Ace, swinging his hammer again. Ace narrowly dodged, stumbling back before he regained his footing, now stepping closer.

"Fine! You've got my full attention now!"
