The card was for a place in town called SoulFinder. I had heard of it but it's by invitation only so no one can just go in and out as they please. The card said something like this:

Dear Souls,
You have been anonymously invited to our party at seven pm tonight. If you decide not to attend simply burn your cards.
- Love, SoulFinder

That's odd. I wonder who invited us.
We licked our ice cream and finished as fast as we could without getting a brain freeze.
I held the door open for David, we were in such a hurry we nearly collided with a couple heading inside. "Terribly sorry!" I yelled over my shoulder.
He unlocked the car and we climbed in, closing our doors behind us.
"Should we go?" David asked, just as confused as I was. I wanted to say no and forget this ever happened but I was too curious and I could tell he was too.
"Yes, It would be rude not to." I let out a nervous laugh.
"It's time to pick up Cori and Sana from school. We don't want to keep them waiting," David explained, still a bit startled.
We drove to Ashton Primary and found Cori and Sana waiting happily by the playground.
"Mom, Dad!" Cori beamed.
"Finally," Sana muttered, arms crossed.
She always was the impatient one.
We take them home and the kids head upstairs to change out of their school clothes while David and I sit on the couch, wordless. Neither of us knows what to say or how to say it.
When six thirty rolled around we were rushing to get dressed reassuring the kids we would be back by midnight or at least we hoped.
"Look after each other," I told Cori and Sana before giving them both a hug. Sana's body went rigid but she didn't resist.
David and I left and drove until we found the ominous violet building that was Soulfinder.
He lets out an uneven breath. "This is a strange place for a party,"
Someone opened the door and saw us standing there awkwardly gazing at the building. "Are you coming in?" They ask, confused.
We nod, thankful for the reminder. The girl is wearing a rainbow dress that brushes the tips of her golden heels.
She holds the door open for us, ironically instead of leaving, she goes inside after us.
Could she have invited me? What about David? Who invited him?
Loud music and the smell of fruit punch greet our senses. "My name's Ilo by the way!" She shouts over the music.
"I'm Amoni, and this is David," I yell back, unsure if she heard me.
Ilo stops in her tracks turning to face us. "Do you mind if I borrow her for a moment?"
David nods, "Sure,"
She smiles, taking my arm. Leading me to the very center of the room.
Ilo plays with her blonde hair for a moment. As if she is nervous. "This might sound crazy. But I love you,"
A warm tingly feeling exploded through my chest. It felt like fireworks were going off inside me. I kissed her hungry for the thing I had so wrongly been robbed of all my life.
"I love you too, Ilo."
Meanwhile, David had gone to the punch bowl to serve himself. He was spooning the punch into a glass when he felt someone kiss his neck. The lips were a bit rougher than his wife's or maybe it was just his imagination.
"Amoni?" He asked, a little too hopeful.
A deep laugh answered him. "Afraid not. I'm Exerin Malaki," He turned him around so David was facing him. Kissing his lips, surprisingly he felt at home with Exerin.
"Are you my admirer?" David breathed, blushing from the kiss.
Exerin answered with another kiss, this time on David's chest just below his neck. "What's it look like?"
"It looks like you are in love with me," David whispered, taking the question literally.
