CHAPTER ONE.
VISENYA TARGARYEN
103 AC
VISENYA TARGARYEN was the eldest daughter of the King Viserys, born to him and Laena Baratheon in 87 AC. Unfortunately, her mother died during her birth so she was not able to see her daughter grow up. Viserys had remarried Aemma Arryn and four years later, had another daughter Rhaenyra. Despite Aemma not being Visenya's birth mother, Visenya treated her as such considering she was the only woman she'd ever remembered.
Visenya had heard many stories about her mother. The famous Laena Baratheon was Rhaenys Velaryon's elder sister and a great dragon rider. The Baratheon woman was described to be a free spirit. She had loved to travel and would often disappear on her dragon Saelys and reappear with a multitude of presents from her travels. Until she was carted off to the Red Keep, Laena had never been able to be tied to one spot. As a result of this, she was quite unhappy with her life at the Keep. However, she could never say she disliked her husband.
Visenya's father was the epitome of kindness. He'd been recently crowned King but he never let that stop him from spending time with his daughters. Visenya and Rhaenyra were extremely close despite their different mothers and often sat on their father's lap as he told them stories or worked on his model of King's Landing.
Currently, Viserys was in a meeting with his council and whilst Visenya was supposed to be in her lessons with the septa and Rhaenyra, she was in the library, curled up in a corner, hoping not to be spotted.
Her fingers nimbly turned the pages as her eyes flicked over the words detailing Aegon's Conquest. She leaned gently against a bookshelf by the large windows overlooking the city. She had no interest in the city at the moment, and her mind was too focused on the gory details of the book.
However, her moment was cut short as she heard whispers behind her. She shut the book silently and remained still. If she moved, whoever it was would surely spot her. Unfortunately, her reasoning was short-lived as the bookshelf jolted and a book tumbled from a shelf, smacking her in the forehead, giving her no choice but to voice her discomfort "Ow!" she rubbed the spot in annoyance and glared up to where the book had fallen from.
The whispers paused and Visenya froze. She was caught. More whispers ensued, angry ones. The voice of a woman and a man. Footsteps receded and just as she thought the person was not going to investigate, a head of silver hair rounded around the corner.
Visenya's eyes widened, thinking it was her father or Aemma, but breathed a sigh in relief when she realised it was only Daemon.
Daemon Targaryen was a bit of an oddity. He was always off doing Gods knows what and her father was always angry with him for something. However, they were close, considering he was only 6 years Visenya's senior. They had grown together and could often be seen sneaking out of the Keep, to visit Daemon's dragon Caraxes.
