ricky and nini had gone on their first date a week ago. meaning for the past seven days, nini had not been able to shut up about him.

unfortunately for gina, this only resulted in her liking him more.

nini talked about how sweet he was with her. how he'd wait for her after classes, and take her for smoothies after.

gina wished she was nini. gina never thought she'd think that.

nini was always better than her in every social sense. more friends, more boyfriends.

it never bothered gina until now. she wondered why all of a sudden it was affecting her.

gina and stella had decided to go to the on campus starbucks to study. nini had plans with ricky so she told the girls to go without her.

"how are you feeling about ricky and nini?" stella asked as she took a sip of her coffee.

"what do you mean?" gina could feel a wave of worry wash over. did stella know? had she made it that obvious?

"gi... be honest. i see how you look at them."

"they're sweet together." gina didn't want to believe that, but it was the truth.

"don't worry, both ricky and jace are too oblivious to notice." stella chuckled, making gina smile.

"pinky promise you won't tell a soul? if nini found out it'd ruin everything. i don't want to ruin our friendship over a boy." gina held out her pinky.

"of course. it'll be our secret." stella said as she interlocked her pinky with gina's.
