ELLIES POV
My head feels like it's pounding out of my eyes. My body is heavy and sore, and I slowly wake up to sunlight streaming directly into my face. Ouch. I sit up groggily and glance around my room, realizing I'm in my own bed. How did I get here? I look down and see I'm wearing a baggy t-shirt and just my underwear.
Oh God. What happened?
"What the hell?" I say, my voice shaky as I frantically search for any clues. My eyes land on Dom, who is still nestled in bed, sound asleep and lightly snoring, his face buried in his pillow. I grab my own pillow and throw it at him.
"Dom! Wake the hell up!" I yell, trying to shake him from his slumber.
He stirs but doesn't budge, so I grab my other pillow and throw it at him again.
"Dom! Wake up right now!" I shout, my patience wearing thin.
"What?" he groans, his deep voice still thick with sleep.
"What the hell happened last night? How did I end up here and in these clothes?" I'm starting to panic, the reality of my situation crashing down on me.
"You went to the party," he replies, still half-asleep and a little bemused.
"I know that, you dumbass! But how did I get home? Did I do anything stupid?"
"I brought you home. And if you consider me having to help you pee last night stupid, then yeah, you did," he says, snuggling deeper into his pillow.
"I did what?! Oh my god! This is mortifying! I've never done that before!" Panic floods my voice.
"Well, I hope you're not used to having people help you pee," he replies, laughter echoing in his tone.
"No, I mean I've never actually gotten drunk!" I confess, finally looking him in the eye, my cheeks heating up.
"What?" Now he's wide awake, propping himself up on one elbow.
"Yeah, I know. I'm boring," I say, kicking the blanket a little in embarrassment.
"Boring? No-well maybe.." he says, raising an eyebrow.
"Great, so I'm boring and a lightweight. What now?" I mutter, covering my face with my hands.
"Well, look at it this way: you survived. And now you have a funny story to tell," he says, trying to lighten the mood.
"Funny story? More like an embarrassing one," I groan, shaking my head.
"Trust me, it could have been worse. You could've puked." he teases with a smirk.
As if on cue, I dash to the bathroom, feeling every inch of alcohol I consumed last night rushing back up.
"Never mind!" he calls after me, laughing, and I can hear him shuffling around.
I hit the toilet hard, and I hear the bathroom door creak open. Dom peeks his head in, and I clamp my hand over my mouth.
"Don't watch me!" I yell, retching again.
"Just hold on! I'm here to help. You wouldn't want to get vomit in this long brown hair of yours, would you?" He takes a few steps closer and gently pulls my hair away from my face.
"Ughhhh," I groan, feeling both defeated and oddly grateful. I don't understand why he's being so caring right now.
"Hey, everyone has these nights," he says, trying to be supportive. "It happens. You'll be fine."
"I've just never... like this. I can't believe I let myself get carried away," I whine, resting my head against the cool toilet seat for a moment.
Dom's eyes soften. "Look, Ellie. It's not a big deal. You're human, right? You know, we all have our moments."
